    2011 Hong Kong Open SS: Qualification Rounds Tue 15-November

    Some South East Asian players are participating in the SEA Games this week, and therefore they would not here in Hong Kong.

    Tuesday 15-November is Qualification Day.

    For Schedule of Matches;

    For Time in Hong Kong;

    For BCers wishing to look at the Elimination Draws (to find out who are the players waiting for the qualifiers), here is the link;

    Previously, I have given links for Live Streaming, but not all countries can share the links. Perhaps some BCers from different countries can post their links that are working for their regions.

    For our BC PAW Game, I believe Sandy is constructing it now. The thread should be out soon.

    2011 Hong Kong Open SS Qualification Rounds: An interesting match

    .
    We should find this an interesting match, namely;
    Lee Hock Lai (USA)-vs-Kuan Beng Hong (MAS) on Court 2.

    They haven't played each other before (if I remember correctly). It's great to find these 2 players making their comeback. :):):)

    My guess: Kuan Beng Hong (MAS) could be the victor.

    the qualification is much to HongKong/Macau dominated. Even some players playing their first world ranking tournaments, always good to start with the super series :)

    Probably because of the SEA games, some players skip HKG SS.

    Three local players plus one US shuttler have secured WS main draw ticket, Tse Ying Suet/Mong Kwan Yi/Cheung Ngan Yi and Iris Wang.

    Just got back to find that Lee Hock Lai (USA) defeated Kuan Beng Hong (MAS) 17-21, 21-12, 21-17 (in 37 minutes? :eek:). They must be playing super fast; But I believe it could be an error in the stopwatch/score-pad, because many matches were timed less than 20 minutes.
