A new LN Woods series racquet will hit the market in 2012! According to information from Badmintoncn.com, this new N80 will be a Jan Ø. Jørgensen signature racquet, just as the N90 is Lin Dan's.

Spec-wise, the new N80 is said to be a more or less a N90 with a overall heavier feel to it (not exactly sure in what way) and looks like it is designed with the "new grommet system" string pattern:

One immediate thing that is apparent to me is that the frame cross section profile will not be based on the Yonex Armortec's Power Armour System anymore, in favour of a more smooth aerodynamic profile.

Looks like its gonna be a promising racket. I love that new frame shape. Colour wise, I don't know but its growing on me the more I look at it!

I just might have to pick it up. That way I'd have all the 80's. Yonex Voltric 80, Victor Meteor 80, and now Li-Ning Woods N80.

thanks for the link! google translate time :D

    ...

wow, 5 new rackets are coming! N80, N36, N20 N10 and another unknown.

N80 is more heavy head than N90, definitely not for beginners :S

Looks like Google Translate has failed again :p

The text specifically mentioned "heavier to the hand's feel" and NOT head heavy at all.

im sure that racket is beastly but whats up with li ning and its designs? with the exception of some rackets, a lot of them look pretty horrible. quite tacky i would say. but this is purely my own thought.

I think it actually looks pretty classy, miles better than most of them.

My god Google translator fails miserably when it comes to translating Chinese.

Apparently, I'm supposed to beat box my top floor watermelon.......

:D Love it! :D Back in school, when we studied some weird old poems in English, we used to translate them with Google just for fun - the translations weren't helping any in understanding them, but they sure were amusing! And it only gets better when you translate sth. and then translate it back. Pure awesome.

Anyhow, even though the racket looks like a patchwork of a Bravesword, an AT800Def and a N90, it's....interesting^^ Can't say I wouldn't take it for a hit if I had the opportunity. With Li Ning being 30-50% more expensive than my trusty Victors, I'll not buy one anytime soon though.

Doesn't it look like something straight out of the SOTX CP series?

Head heavier than the N90? I tried a N90 today and it's way heavier than my AT700LTD's. Might have to pick one up and try! How does Li Nings grip size numbering work and what tension can these take?

S2=Yonex G5, S3=G4, they take tensions up to 33 very well - haven't strung beyond that yet.

Thanks! I was going to pick up a N90II since I liked how heavy & head heavy it was, but might as well wait out for this one. I recently bought a VT80 and although it's probably the best suited racket for me from the current Yonex lineup, I'm still a little disappointed that it's a little too light when compared to the AT700LTD's :(

This could possibly be a replacement for my trusty SW35, depending on its stiffness, if its less head heavy than N90, and has the similar stiffness to the SW35, i will have no option but to switch!:)
