The later Bae Youn Joo-vs-Saina Nehwal [4] match should be an interesting one to follow.
Unfortunately, I have to leave BC for now. I shall return later to read.

MS
Simon Santoso vs Brice Leverdez - Simon should aim to reach QF here and earn 6600 pts!
Nguyen Tien-Minh [7] vs Tommy Sugiarto - I would also like to see Tommy winning this one.
Lu Yi vs Taufik Hidayat [8] - Taufik is still not motivated, as observed from his losses against Tanongsak last week. There's a high chance he will lose against the Chinese qualifier.
MD
Bona Septano/Mohd Ahsan [6] vs Naoki Kawamae/Shoji Sato - Bona/Ahsan need to start winning against the top 4 pairs (esp Fu/Cai, Jung/Lee, Ko/Yoo). They will have another chance if they can clear the first 2 rounds.
Gan Teik Chai/Tan Bin Shen vs Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [8] - Kido/Hendra are on a decline and they need to reach QF to guarantee their Olympics spot next year.
Tao Jiaming/Zhang Nan vs Angga Pratama/Rian Agung Saputro - a dangerous opponent for Rian/Angga. They might lose as Tao/Zhang are not easy meat as I have observed from last week's match against Endo/Hayakawa.
Ingo Kindervater/Johannes Schoettler vs Hendra A. Gunawan/Alvent Yulianto Chandra - a rematch and AG/Alvent should triumph again.
WD
Meiliana Jauhari/Greysia Polii [8] vs Cheng Shu/Pan Pan - if Grace is still injured, no chance for them to win.
Vita Marissa/Nadya Melati vs Hsieh Pei-Chen/Wang Pei-Rong - a reasonable opening match for Vita/Nadya, who's now the no 10 pair in the World!
Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Anneke Feinya Agustine vs Tang Jinhua/Xia Huan - after the euphoria of the Gold Medal at the SEA Games, Nitya/Feinya will come back to earth with an expected defeat against Tang/Xia.
XD
Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir [4] vs Hirokatsu Hashimoto/Mizuki Fujii - Towi/Butet should reach SF here.
Chen Hung-Ling/Cheng Wen-Hsing [5] vs Nova Widianto/Vita Marissa - Chen/Cheng continue to maintain their impressive form last week.
V. Diju/Jwala Gutta vs Mohd Rijal/Debby Susanto - Rijal/Debby are still inconsistent.

That's a good win for them and a terrible result for the English.
The english pair have gone out twice in the 1st round (HK as well) and especially when they are trying to get the one place for mxd doubles at the olympics.
Yip Pui Yin beat Julia Schenk which is a surprise. Yip went out in the first round in her hometown of hong kong. This win over Julia will give Yip some confidence.
Lee Yong Dae is out of the mxd - makes it better for the mens doubles!

A really tough first round match for Peter Gade as he needs 82 mins to overcome Shon Wan-ho, 21-13 / 20-22 / 22-20.

PG escapes by the skin of his teeth 22-20 and avoids a disastrous start to his CHN SS campaign. However the toll may have been taken on him in the form of an 80 min struggle.

"Hate to lose", naturally, but still got to behave himself for his own sake if not for the nation - we want our top players to be role models,in my opinion. He's still very young,he will learn and continue to improve;I'm sure he's got a bright future ahead of him, wish him all the best.
