Something to add.
I think when Fu sliced the shuttle below the net, the shuttle touched the net on the way up, hence the net 'shook'.
The umpire did not fault, so I guess it's a game call. Although we saw the replay that the racquet may have hit the net.
The slice by Fu was horizontal and quite unlikely to hit the shuttle, (I assume) if the Umpire saw it from his lofty position. (He had to make a game decision on the spot, it's his call)Last edited by Badmintan; 11-25-2011 at 10:33 AM.

Think we need CSI to get to the bottom of the matter.
Regardless whether she faulted anot, to me it's indeed an amazing shot.... especially at such a crucial point. I prolly can't do it 1 time even if given 50 chances during practice.

Looked more lucky than skill to best honest with you. I wouldn't classify this as the best net retrieval ever either. Perhaps my definition of "best net retrieval" is different from yours.

Skill vs luck: sometimes difficult to differentiate. As Gill Clark would commentate: sometimes you create your own luck.
. But in this case, to be able to even get a rolling net shot back over is skill enough, and to have her return tip over the net to win the point is pretty amazing.

Correction:She was not playing on home-ground.
the uniqueness of it all was that she was playing in the opponent's home ground instead, 20-all , 3rd final set. It was during the South-East Asian Games 2011 that was held in Indonesia, a powerhouse in S.E.A badminton where Indonesia was expected to have a clean sweep in all 5 categories. they won 4, except this one.

Net does move at 7.44
But, can't see if the racquet or shuttle is to blame AND the opponent doesn't make an issue of it at all.
I would call it an awesome return!
