people keep criticising BWF, but the SSP must be a success with most of the top players participating.

Because we are in the Olympics qualification period this year, we find many top players participating in the SSP tournaments.

Perhaps, in the next 3 years, SSP won't be well participated. Let's wait and see. :):):)

if Koo/Tan want to win against nemesis Ko/Yoo, all they need to do is to play hard, no fancy movement, and most thing is don't give Ko/Yoo a single break, SEND THEM TO HELL...!!
this is what john wayne as colonel said to his soldiers...

    Simon Santoso
vs Peter Hoeg Gade [4] - I am hoping for Simon to beat Peter Gade again, after the success in the Korea SSP earlier this year at the same stage! This is especially as Gade was stretched to 3-sets in his match against Du Pengyu today as well as the first-round match against Shon Wan Ho yesterday, while Simon has had 2 easy matches so far.

    MD QF
Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [8] vs Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [3] - Boe/Moe should take this one as Kido/Hendra are obviously struggling to find their form right now.

Kudos to BWF, without the SS Premiers it will be so difficult to gather all the top players together so often.

Don't worry, without the Olympics, the World Championship and Super Series Final (perhaps not limited to top 8) will become more important and sought-after, I think. I also expect that BWF will continue to fine-tune it,improve the format, increase the prize money, boost the image, raise the status, and so on and so forth.:)

Yessir coach...But coach you forgot note that with the speed and fitness of Yo-Koo, they may not give our buddy Koo-Tan a break:D And forget Johnny Boy said, Jackie Nicolson said 'you can't handle the truth':p

Again your last sentence amazed me. The radio over here has been playing this (in bold) for the past month.
This should be told to KKK/TBH and all their supporters.

CPS/GLY should have no problem to get past the THAI pair.

well, koo and tan did get a nice 2 week break having skipped hk open, so we'll see if that helped them any bit at all

but my intuition only gives them 30/70 chance of winning against their arch rivals tomorrow :p

Yes, this should be a most interesting match; World No.4 (Ko/Yoo)-vs-World No.5 (Tan/Koo).

    I think it could be: Ko/Yoo 55%-vs-45% Tan/Koo.

I did watch they play against German pair last night . Quite positive approach of their playing style now. Both players are very focused and calm now. KKK no longer running all over the court to take the shots.Tan BH scrificed his power of smash with the speed of smash and he seen to be able to execute fast smash many times non stop this time ( just like FHF but not as powerful as FHF !). The caught the german pair off guard many times ! Pretty impressive result against the German pair. 21 - 7 and 21- 16. The German pair is quite strong after beatinmg Indonesia pair. They used to paly 3 sets against thsi german pair. Hopeful KKK/TBH can up the pace again tonight against the Korea pair.

a tournament thread won't be fun without some predictions... ;)

    firstly Men Single.

LCW over Sho - no contest here
LD over JOJ - i think LD is sick of all these match fixing himself. he wants to face LCW and beat him squarely. more quality sparring for LCW, but so be it.

PG over SS - not convinced that SS has the stuff to beat PG. but who knows.
CJ vs CL - this will likely happen after PG vs. SS and the result will be tweaked accordingly. nothing to indicate that these two will disobey team order.

    Women Single:

RI over LX - i hope this will be on TV. i am supporting RI because it is hard to not support this cheerful young lady with a land of the smile attitude. but LX isn't going to give up without a fight. i hope this will be a close match.

WX over YX - who is this qualifier who beat TB yesterday? i want to know, but i also believe she will lose to WX as well.

LX (ops... i guess this will be LX(F)?) over Bae - Bae did well in previous UC, but that's about it.

WYH over Petya - not much more to say here.

    Men Doubles:

CY/FHF over Naoki / Shoji - yeah. i think so

Ko/Yoo over KKK/TBH - KKK/TBH not only in poor form, but facing their bogeymen they will unlikely to advance.

Kido / Setiawan over Bo/Mo - i just don't like the attitude of the BoMo pair.

LYD/JJS over CB/GZD - at their form, LYD will roll over everyone but CY/FHF.

    Women Double

all chinese will win plus one indian pair.

that's all i am gonna say here.

    Mixed Double

ZN/ZYL over CHL/CWH - though i like the Taiwanese pair too, the Chinese are just too strong for them. we will be treated to some impressive display of skill by CWH though.

TL/KRJ over TJM/XH - the Danes have the edge here.

JFN/CP over meneepong jongjit/savitree amitapai - i just have to type that one out. ;) even the chinese have problem against JF/CP. i am afraid this thai pair will unlikely be able to make much of a dent.

Chan Pend Soon / Goh Liu Ying over Songphon / Kunchala - wow. where did this MAS pair come from?!? took out WC runner up and XC/MJ in a roll. i want to see how they do against other stronger pairs.
