It's quite a competitive field in MS and WS!

    INA players:
    MS
    Alamsyah Yunus - again top-seed
    Andre Kurniawan Tedjono
    Shesar Hiren Rhustavito
    Evert Sukamta
    Riyanto Subagja

    WS
    Yulia Yosephine Susanto (Q)
    Milicent Wiranto (Q)

    MD
    Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto
    Berry Angriawan/Rahmat Adianto

    WD
    Suci Rizky Andini/Della Destiara Haris
    Komala Dewi/Jenna Gozali
    Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Tiara Rosalia Nuriadah

    XD
    Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati
    Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini
    Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili

I believe most if not all of these will continue to participate in India Open GPG in the following week.

i wonder why there is no wisnu yuli prasetyo who plays much better than riyanto this year.
pbsi should send him more and more.....

at least, our talents has to play in 5 IC/IS and 5 sirnas and also 1/2 GP/GP Gold, so that they can improve...

In MS, Alamsyah Yunus and Andre Kurniawan Tedjono are likely to be seeded, with Alam as the top-seed and Andre to be 5-8th seed. It will be more difficult for Alam to win here given the participation of several local players and Thai players.

With the Olympics qualifying period still on, the WS has attracted players like Eriko Hirose and Sapsiree Taerattanachai.

MD is also more competitive compared to last year (won by Joko Riyadi/Yoga Ukikasah), with the participation of Ruud Bosch/Koen Ridder, the local pair Rupesh Kumar/Thomas Sanave, the emerging Thai pairs Bodin Isara/Maneepong Jongjit and Niphitphon Puangpuapech/Patipat Chalardchalaem, and several WJC winners from MAS Nelson Heg/Teo Ee Yi and Ow Yao Han/Tan Wee Kiong. The 2 INA back-up pairs Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto and Berry Angriawan/Rahmat Adianto are unlikely to win the title here, unless there's a miracle.

The WD field is definitely the weakest, with only 12 pairs, with 3 pairs being Pelatnas's 2nd team. Suci Rizky Andini/Della Destiara Haris will be among the top 2 seeds and the INA pairs will need to be aware of the Thai pair Savitree Amitrapai/Sapsiree Taerattanachai/Savitree Amitrapai. The chance is quite high for an INA pair to win the title in WD.

There are also at most only 16 pairs in XD, again with 2 pairs being Pelatnas's new pairs + Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini. The top-seed will likely be Thai's emerging pair of Maneepong Jongjit/Savitree Amitrapai. I hope Fran Kurniawan Teng/Shendy Puspa Irawati can at least reach the Final and test the Thai pair!

The draws are finally out...some last minute withdraws as I can see from the draws (including the Thai pairs).

    MS Q
    Alrie Guna Dharma
    - he's likely to qualify into the Main Draw
    Q1 vs Mayank Behal
Q2 vs either K. Ajay Kumar or Prakash Jolly

MS R32 - overall tough draws for the non-seeded youngstersAlamsyah Yunus [1] vs B. Sai Praneeth

Goh Soon Huat vs Q2 (possibly Alrie Guna Dharma)

Riyanto Subagja vs Lim Fang Yang

Q1 (likely to be Muhd Syawal Mohd Ismail) vs Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [5]

Shesar Hiren Rhustavito vs Q6 (likely to be Loh Wei Sheng)

Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin vs Evert Sukamta

    WS Q
    Milicent I.W.
vs Rucha Nikam - she's also likely to qualify

    WS R32
Neha Pandit vs Q5 (likely to be Milicent I.W.) - Milicent is unlikely to progress beyond R32.

    MD R32
Rupesh Kumar/Thomas Sanave [1] vs Berry Angriawan/Rahmat Adianto - ouch...tough luck in drawing the top-seed

Tan Wee Tat/Tan Yip Jiun vs Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto [4] - a rematch of the MAS IC first-round draw where the INA pair lost in straight-sets.

WD QF - a free 2200 pts to everyone since there are only 8 pairs in the Main DrawSuci Rizky Andini/Della Destiara Haris [1] vs Pradnya Gadre/Prajakta Sawant - tricky first round tie

Aparna Balan/N. Siki Reddy vs Gebby Ristiyani Imawan/Tiara Rosalia Nuraidah [2] - ditto for the second-seed.

Komala Dewi/Jenna Gozali vs Daya Elsa Jacob/Sneha Santhilal

    XD R16
Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati vs Manyank Behal/Meenakshi Nair

Akshay Dewalkar/Pradnya Gadre vs Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini [4]

Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili vs Pranav Chopra/Prajakta Sawant

As expected, Alrie Guna Dharma continues his good form. Having won 2 qualifying matches on Wednesday (what a close shave in the first match with scoreline of 14-21, 26-24, 23-21).

Millicent I.W. also qualifies for the Main Draw.

He now has an uphill task against Arvind Bhat [3] tomorrow. So, 920 pts for him here and with a spot guaranteed in the Main Draw next week, another 660 pts at least. I hope he can reach R32 next week.

It's expected that he will lose to the much more experienced Indian player.

Alamsyah Yunus begins his defense of the title with a straight-set victory. His next opponent is H.S. Pranooy.

Of the 3 remaining INA players in the lower half, Andre Kurniawan Tedjono [5] and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito are expected to win. Evert Sukamta will face have tough task against Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin.

he played with a unwell condition, high fever and sore throat, and even he have to struggle with this condition during bangladesh international series. Hope, 4 days are enough for him to recover from his illness for next tournament in India GP Gold.

Only Alamsyah Yunus, Andre Kurniawan Tedjono, and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito progress to R16. Andre will be tested against Misbun Ramdan Mohd Misbun, while Vito has a tough test against Anand Pawar [4]. I think only Alam and Andre will eventually progress to the QF.

In XD, all the 3 pairs progress. Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati will face Wong Wai Hong/Chau Hoi Wah [1], while Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili will face Tan Aik Quan/Lai Pei Jing [2]. It will be interesting to see how the 2 new pairs face the top 2 seeds. Meanwhile, Irfan Fadhilah/Wenni Anggraini [4] will face another Indian pair and should beat them.

In MD, only Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto [4] progress to the R16 and they should beat the Indian pair to progress to the SF.

WD will also begin at the QF stage and all 3 INA pairs have a big chance to make it to the SF.
