Hi guys, I've wanted this racket as a christmas present for my boyfriend. The owner is playing a club in London and Said he's got this from Japan in summer last year which makes sense as the cone code says It's made in 2009.

This is the cone code : 041292JP
    Shaft code : 8942058

He said he bought it for 22000 JPY about GBP 177 and comes with nanogy 98 JP version string which is newly strung at 26lbs and the original japanese version bag.

The thing is I live quite far from him so I couldn't go have a look by myself (he says I'm always welcomed) He also says it's 100% genuine and will get any photos I want if it's needed. Sounds very sensible and legit. But I want to know what do you guys think as I've got seriously no clues about it.

Here are some pics and let me know if you want more photos.

    Thanks :) x

    Hi there :)
    IMO, it looks genuine
    the bag is good
there is SG which also says: this is JP racket
the cone code and shaft serial looks sensible for me (even though I don't know the exact one, but it close to genuine one)
    the butt cap also good

the only thing that bugged me:
you can buy a NEW one from "my badminton store" (MBS)
    http://www.mybadmintonstore.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=25_26_69&products_id=671
    f
or US $220 (Around £141 with strings) delivered to your door in 1-2 weeks

    advantage buying from MBS:
buying from MBS (the link above) will guarantee you new racket, not a second hand racket
if the seller string the racket, last year, that means the tension already drop and even worse: the string damage the grommets and eventually will damage the racket

    problems:
maybe the custom will hold it (because it is from MBS is shop in HK) and need to go through the custom check
it will take long time to wait for it delivered (when is your BF b'day?)
    it could take 1-2 weeks

so, how much does he offer?
if too expensive, better to buy a new one (with all problems considered?)

Thank you for all your comments guy :) He's offered me 113 GBP you think it's worth it as the cheapest one I can find in the UK is Milletsport and it's still about 138-148? So this will save me a bit of money.

What can I do with the old string?re-string it?

I will try to feel the end of the butt cap and let you know how I feel LMAO hahahaou guys

BTW loving you guys arguing about the colour and feel of the butt cap. Men are sometimes so cute when it comes to theirs interest :)

    thanks again xxx

play with yr existing string... keep it if u like it..

    re-string if u dun..

identify the real or fake racket just by feeling the end of butt cap is the 1st time i hear....
sounds so much like those pro...players.. in mahjong... u dun need see the seed... just feel it.. n u know what the seed.. is ...

    really interesting..

well, I think it's worth it then
usually JP is more expensive than any other area in the world (maybe except UK with those 22.5% tax)

but be careful, the racket has no warranty because it pass 1 year since he bought it

buying new racket with UK code will give you new warranty that last 1 year (warranty if there is factory default)

Thank you Avenger :) Yeah I kind of realize that fact I will ask him again about any defects it's got. I think it'll be alright. He asked me to go try it myself but we live quite far away so I couldn't. Will talk to him again before making the final decision.

Anyway thank you again for your comment x
