I got this strung on Nov. 4 and this is the result after a club session 2 days ago :crying:

This was strung on a VT-70 racket at
    24lbs with BG-80

Also, I'm tired of breaking my string so often now and paying 20-30 bucks per stringing. I've had NBG-98 3 times and they lasted me 2-3 months on average with heavy smashing play...

Could anyone recommend a string that is very durable with a hard feeling at 25-26lbs?
Also I play with plastic shuttles only at my local club :p

I have looked into several threads about BG-70 PRO being one of the most durable and best for plastic shuttle play but I would like to hear what you peoples recommend!...:D

I hated BG70Pro, and I use plastics - no feel or power, so I don't go near it any more. BG80 is notorious for the coating separating, as it seems to have done here.

In all honesty, the best playability/durability balance I've found to date is Ashaway Zymax 70, but it might be a bit soft compared to BG80 at the same tension; I use it past 30 lb. Zymax 67 might match up better in terms of feel in the mid 20's, but I suggest you try both - they're not expensive:).

2-3 months of hard smashing is asking for quite a bit! That said, I love my BG80's as they last at least 24 hours of solid intense play which I find is reasonable. You can try BG80 Power as it's claimed to last 33% longer, but at the expense of feeling soft yet hard (whatever that means I haven't tried them yet). Other than that, I would still recommend BG70 Pro, but in order to generate the same power as BG80's, you have to adjust your timing quite a bit as it's both soft and not as crisp. It is possible to have insane power with these as some of my friends have proven.

In all honesty, the only times I've seen BG80 breaking in that pattern so fast is when the strings are an old batch that has been sitting on the stringer's shelf for "awhile." I string my fresh batches of BG80's to 24-28lbs for others and the strings never go out like that, not even when I push them to 34lbs for myself.

Oh, not smashing hard all the time, I'd say a third to half of the time at most, and I usually play 2 times a week, two and a half hours each session. Thanks for your reply!

It's unlucky that you're used to BG80, as there isn't really another Yonex with that same hard feel. You might try BG65 (not Ti) at 28 or 29 lb, as it keeps power well and should feel pretty stiff.

It's not that I am used to BG80 strings, really, I can use any string, but the only strings that are available to me are Yonex brand strings. I read from other posts that people say the BG-70 has a really hard feeling o-o. I don't know if that's true though at 25lbs.
And I also read somewhere that BG-65 loses tension quickly and I don't think I could handle 28-29lbs :/

65Ti loses tesnion faster than pretty much anything else besides VS-850, but regular 65 is fine.

I would always recommend someone who was switching (or thinking of switching) from BG80 to BG65 to increase they're tension by 2-4lbs depending on a number of factors.

I personally if I use BG65, I will increase by 3lbs than playing with BG80, usually use BG65 @ 29lbs, cause of it's soft feeling, BG80 cause it's a hard feeling string, I use 26lbs, and for VS850, I use 27lbs. Basically I adjust my tension by the feeling that the string gives.:)

    So if you're using BG80 at 25lbs, then I would recommend trying BG65 @ around 27-29...

First off, has no one else gaped in awe at that cool photo the OP took of his strings?! That's totally electron microscope-like! Very cool.

Secondly, is BG70 Pro really all that bad a choice for this man's dilemma?
I have only tried it recently, but it seems to play well enough.

Likely during stringing, clamp by machine claws...I have once encounter this also...other stringer told me..
Claws damage the outer layer of the string which cause it to tear even 1-2hrs of game......I since start to check after stringing.....if in the event, i will ask the stringer to restring again due to bad workmanship

Hmm, this only started to show after 12+ hours of play with the string so I can't really say it was the stringer :p

You really have to see the string after re-string....

If we knew whereabouts on the racket the coating was beginning to fray we could rule out the stringer...
