Whether or not the F9 is good for smashing depends on how you play and how your technique is. The racket is very flexible, favouring players with a more arm-heavy swing. Less powerful for people who use a lot of wrist. For me, the F9 was only ok when it came to smashing, through it got slightly better with time.

There is no best string for any racket. It's all about personal preference. Some people like thin repulsive strings, some prefer thicker softer ones. It all depends on your tension, your skill, your style of play and your priorities (as some might like very thin strings but can't afford the weekly stringing that would be necessary). No one can predict what string and/or tension you'll like, and personally I find that the racket influences string/tension preference only marginally (I prefer slightly thicker strings on massive head heavy rackets like the N90/N70 as opposed to the ZM65 I prefer on my BS rackets)

I loved the BG66UM on the LYD but it just ate my strings. I would love to keep playing with those but i cant find the time (or money) to keep restrining. Tried BG80 but didnt feel like that suited the racket. I then tried the nanogy 95 but they were just to hard and i struggled to get any playability out of them. Trying nanology 98 next - fingers crossed!! I believe this racket suits a thinner string but everyone has their own preferences

I guess you got the answer for yourself. Whenever smash is more power, which meant you need more power to lift your racket to defend too, whenever is more flexi, meant you will have lesser control too, so compare these two rackets both have different strengths, it is depended whether you want to have massive smash or faster speed.

try nbg98...its a reinforced bg66um with carbon nanotubes,meaning it will last longer than the ultimax...after all ultimax is 0.65...a good string,cant deny...but..just cant withstand the times of stringing it per week! haha

Iv used the nanology 98 for a few weeks now and it is great. Im getting a performance nearly as good as the ultimax but with loads more durability. Im enjoying playing with this racket again. I hope this continues!!

I finally got my hands on a pair of LYDs & I love the feel of this racquet.
Power is the when u need, fast swings, defence is very good.
Now I just need to find the correct string & tension for my game.
Overall.. a Great racquet!!!
