Default India Open GPG Semifinal and Final (24-25 Dec 2011)

Finally we enter last 2 rounds of the last WBF tourney in 2011. Ina put 4 representatives in Sf with good chances advancing to final.

    My calls:

    XD
    • Fran/Shendy over Sudket/Saralee. The Thais are past their best and the young INA pair is no chopped liver.
    • Diju/Jwala over Rijal/Debby. Ol' Hefty will not be pleased over her shock WD elimination. She'll be barking orders to Diju, military style.

    WS
    • Porntip over Eriko. Eriko is still some ways off her top form. The talented Porntip will edge it.
    • Rat over Chan Tsz Ka. Too much power, too much variety, too much Rat.

    MS
    • Taufik over Wong Wing Kee. Not an easy match for the slumping Indonesian but he is better in all facets of the game (except fitness).
    • Varma over Suppanyu. Battle of the surprise packages. I think the crowd factor determines the winner.

    MD
    • Kawamae/Sato
over Ow/Tan. Never even heard of these Malaysians. The experienced Japanese slice and dice the MAS boys a la sushi.
    • Kindervater/Schoettler over Andrei/Chris. Too soon for the raw Indonesians. Experience will triumph.

    WD
    • Chin/Wong
over SMS/Yao Lei. Chin/Wong are more desperate for OG ranking points and seem to be finding their legs again.
    • Hoo/Woon over Maeda/Suetsuna. Calling for a big upset. The MAS girls can blow hot and cold. Looks like it's hot at the moment.

    MS SF
Wong Wing Ki [5] vs Taufik Hidayat [2] - if Taufik still cannot win the title here in the absence of the CHN, KOR, MAS, DEN, and other top players, then, he can seriously consider retiring before the London Oympic Games.

    MD SF
Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto vs Ingo Kindervater/Johannes Schoettler [2] - agree with madbad that this is a SF too soon for the young INA pair. I am myself surprised they can go that far!

    XD SF
    Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam
[1] vs Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati - while my heart hopes for the 2 INA pairs to create an all-INA Final, my head says these 2 pairs are still too inconsistent. I seriously hope they prove me wrong today!

    V. Diju/Jwala Gutta [4] vs Mohd Rijal/Debby Susanto - see above. Plus, Diju/Gutta just beat the INA pair last month at the China SSP.

You watch. All the poor fella will do is:
    - carry her bag to the court and between change of ends
    - shout "How high, SIR!?" when Jwala barks "jump!!"
    - hit the floor for 20 push ups every time he makes an unforced error
    - execute a formal military salute every time Jwala hits a winner

They will definitely win because Rijal/Debby will be ROFL

Haha.... It reminds me of Yu Yang when she partner with He Hanbin.... Although this is more extreme

I sincerely hope that Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto will clinch over Ingo Kindervater/Johannes Schoettler... However since the later have more experience, i hope this young INA MD can get valuable lesson & experience, If they win it is a big present for them for Christmas, if they lost at least they gain something..

Ow is 2009 and 2010 WJC in MD lah madbad. Ow & TWK's regular partners(Chooi KM, Hoon TH) are injured, so they temporary end up with each other. Chooi will be back during MO 2012, after his knee surgery.
