I think we need a special thread to talk and discuss about MD in Indonesia. It is the most succesfull departement so far, with 3 (out of 6) Olympic gold medal, and 7 BWF World Champion Title. In those two event, Indonesia is the most succesful team to grab gold. So let's talk and discuss everything about the development, the current status, the progress, and the future of MD in Indonesia. I'm sorry, I'm not a good thread starter any way.
These are MD pair we have at this time. Pelatnas (in order of the BWF rangking today) 1. Muhamad Ahsan/Bona Soptano (7) 2. Angga Pratama/Ryan Agung Saputra (21) 3. Yohanes Rendy Sugiarto/Alfiat Yuris Wirawan (36) 4. Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Agripina Prima Putra Rahmanto Putra (61) 5. Ricky Karanda Suwardi/Muhamad Ulinuha (76) 6. Andrei Adistia/Christopher Rusdianto (84) 7. Rahmat Adianto/Berry Anggriawan (101) Independent 1. Alvent Yulianto Chandra/Hendra Aprida Gunawan (9) 2. Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (10) Please Correct Me If I'm Wrong (CMIIW)
I believe Andrei/Christopher should climb above Ulin/Ricky by next week to WR62. Ulin/Ricky will be next at WR63. We also have 2 emerging pairs from the clubs whom we shall probably see more often in international tourneys too: Hafiz Faisal/Putra Eka Rhoma (WR144) Praveen Jordan/Didit Juang Indrianto (WR193) The other club pairs (Rendra/Rian, Fernando/Wifqi, Andhika/Hendra) will probably be only be competing in regional and domestic tourneys.
Yup, a 5950 pts is a huge point for low-ranked pair like Andrei/Christoper, which can boost their ranking next week!!

Yes, impressive with young pairing Andrei/Christoper played at India GPG last week. Like I had said, hopefully PBSI more often send they to play in tournament.

Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan just beat the 7-th seed, Chia Biao/Guo Zhengdong in the first round of Korea Open PSS, 22-20, 21-19.
Do you mean 2012 Olympic London? If yes, i would say it depends.... If Markis Kido / Hendra Setiawan continues their good form after beating Chai Biao / Guo Zhen Dong today, & rushing up to the final, & on their way able to beat CY/FHF, LYD/JJS... Providing they also maintain their good form until OG & in the OG, i believe, Gold medal in INA MD is still in the picture.. There is a possibility for it.. However, if Kido/ Hendra can't maintain their good start in 2012, i would say just hope for OG Gold Medal from MD department in 2016 then... Another possibility for 2012 OG Gold Medal would be from our beloved XD pair TA/LN, although judging by their towards the end of 2011 performances the chances become less promising... But we are just hoping for the best for INA team..
@miksss Thanks for the High Quality pictures... Anyway, tell me, if you are able to get those Djarum jersey...i want it badly...
Let's criticize and underestimate Kido. Like we did once before Asian Games 2010. In the end, he won the only gold medal with Hendra. Hahaha.
couldnt agree more.. hahaha.. i hope it will happend on Towi's side (the gold medal case), everyone blame him now.... even, i am sure Butet is very jengkeling and mangkeling (dont know good words for jengkel and mangkel ) so much on Towi's stupid error in any match and who knows if Towi become the hero in Olympic Gold Medal match ??
I wonder why is it that only Indonesian and Malaysian players suffer from the disease of super inconsistency!?
