. Now, there is a gallery in Wikipedia showing a sequence of Comet Lovejoy approaching the Sun; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C/2011_W3_(Lovejoy) It's amazing the the comet survived as it passes the hot sun. .
Very impressive, Chris. Perhaps this comet portents that somewhere in Australia a future badminton king has been born. Hasten on your camel and follow the comet to the nearest stable. Take a gift of feather, carbon nanofibre, or sweat-wicking polyester.
A future badminton king has been born . Surprised that you are only thinking of Australia. I would think the future Badminton King could also come from Southern Africa, New Zealand, South America, the South Pole and the many islands in the southern hemisphere. .
Comet Lovejoy as seen from the International Space Station . Comet Lovejoy, which recently survived a ‘graze’ with the Sun, has been captured on camera in spectacular fashion by the commander of the International Space Station. Dan Burbank saw the comet from a magnificent vantage point – 240 miles above the Earth’s horizon. He described seeing the comet as ‘the most amazing thing I have ever seen in space’. How shall I explain ....... Mark, just imagine it's like ComicCon -- except with good-looking people instead of pimply Klingons; with martinis instead of Diet Coke; and where people think 'Pythagoras' is the sound you make when you puke in the toilet.
