VANCOUVER get's the olympics 2010

I guess by now most of you have heard the news...for me, i'm very excited!

I'm surprised no one has made a thread on this...you're thoughts on vancouver and the olympics in 2010?

not sure? i didn't think so...i only knew of montreal and calgary before now..

might be me being silly, you mean winter olmypics, yes, cause summer games are 2008 (beijing) and 2012 (somewhere). dont think we play badminton on snow, but could be fun!

Yes Winter Olympics. A place that doesn't even get winter is going to host the Winter Olympics. And we in Toronto are stuck paying the bill for a stupid failed bid for the 2008 Olympics because of our stupid, stupid city council.

Yeah, I knew it at first that Vancouver was gonna win the bid.

2006 Olympics will be held in Europe, so less chance Salzburg was gonna get it.
2008 Olympics will be held in Asia, so less chance PyeongChang was gonna get it.
And there's one more reason why I think one of those two countries didn't win the bid. But I prefer not to write here.

Now that 2010 will be held in North America, there's less chance New York is gonna win the 2012 Olympics bid.
