When i played yesterday i found My self looking around chest hight on My opponent when he hit his shots. Is this the correct way or should you look more at his racket? Which is better for reading his shots?
Well he is a man. But with a decent set of juggs. So aroung chest hight would be about right to cover body, racket and shuttle i guess.
If he's about to hit a smash I look at the chest and arm... so if he's right handed you look at the right side of his upper body, this way you get to focus on the swing and direction of the hit
I generally look at the waist-up of my opponents; however, taking a glance at your opponents footwork can also be helpful. Do you ask because you are having trouble reading your opponent?
Not exactly having trouble reading opponents but when i tried to look at his racket instead to read him better it felt wrong and unnatural. But sometimes the right technique feels wrong in the beginning (like the basic grip did for me). So just wanted to be sure i was not doing it wrong.
