@ Borbor: Don't throw those non slip insoles away... sell em to me. I love em. Well... at least wait till I get to try them first hopefully by end of the week.

Initial impressions after 2 hours of play:
Coming from the SC5EX, a few things immediately noted.
1. This shoe sits very low, much like a plain canvas shoe with a thin rubber sole. I almost feel like I'm a quarter inch closer to the ground. However cushioning is not compromised. Being lower also has the advantage of faster response, easily noticeable in the split step.
2. This shoe is very comfortable, even on the first use. I'm surprised it didn't require any break in time at all.
3. This shoe is wide enough for my 3E wide feet with bunions. Same width and fit as my previous SC5EX.
4. Some people don't like the wavy anti slip surface of the insoles, but I love them. Prevents any sliding inside the shoe, even if you didn't tie it tight and snug.
5. One quibble though: Part of the heel rubber (the white part) is a tad too hard and not grippy enough. Good for sole longevity I suppose, but not good when I slipped for the first time ever when landing the heel while lunging to retrieve a shot. Never had this happen with my other Yonex shoes before.Last edited by visor; 12-08-2012 at 01:23 AM.

no, its actually harder and less grippy as a result... supposed to be more resistant to wear, but if you look at pictures of the bottom sole, i think there's too much of the white material there and not enough of the natural colour rubber.
I'm hoping that it was just a freak accident that I had that I had put most of my weight while lunging and landing on the white part , but I've never had this problem before with my previous SHB200 and SC5EX.Last edited by visor; 12-08-2012 at 02:26 AM.

no clue why they put that white part on the heel. That design element is absolutely retarded. ALMOST had a big one today.

i haven't used the shoe on mat yet. It was on wood today, and I wipe the shoe (wet towel) every other point.
Thurs I'll try it out on a mat and see.

no, it doesn't leave marks; but that white rubber DOES behave different, there's no question to that one. It'd be a fluke to land heel first on it MOST of the time, but when you do land on it, it does behave different.

Streaks on the floor is not the main problem... the main problem is that the white rubber material is harder and hence less grippy.
Borrowing dingboy's photo from page 2 of this thread, we can see that the white makes up a considerably large surface area of the heel. This is where the heel strikes the ground first during a lunge. I had a look at the other higher end Victor and Yonex shoes and none of them has this harder material on the heel. I just hope that with a little break in time, the white part will get a tad softer and more grippy
