Why is there always a (*) and (F) after Jie Yao's and Liu Xin's names in the rankings and tournamentsoftware?
a (*) means the player has changed to a new country. (eg. Yao Jie, Pi Hongyan, Tony Gunawan) a (F) means there is another player with the same name and this is the female one... there is also ~ which i forgot. someone please fill that in.
Can someone explain this player, then? Based on BWF he has the ~ but he is definitely a Malaysian. Wee Kiong TAN ~
If you look at players with ~ they seem to be players with moved nationality: Nick Kidd and Robert Blair both played for England before playing for their original country. Tony Gunawan is also ~ , he was Indonesian, then played for USA and I think now has USA citizenship?
What's the difference between being ~* instead of being just * or ~? Does this mean that they have changed country and have citizenship of their new country if they have ~*?
Nadiezda Zieba also has an * and she has done neither but got married and changed her last name ... Olga Konon has changed countries two times already and has nothing added at all.
Now only I notice. His brothers, Tan Wee Tat & Tan Wee Gleen do not have the ~. There is not other Tan Wee Kiong when I do the search
That is true indeed and already slipped my mind but doesn't help you further one bit ... Unless you want to suggest that if you do it twice you lose a * .
