    Ha ha,

After a great deal of research and hunting, I have finally put together my first stringing machine.

Went for a Gamma X-6FC with Badminton only Fixed Clamps and added a Wise 2086 to it.
For any concerned with mounting to the X-6FC, it was easy and yes you do have 360 degree rotation of the turntable even with a racket mounted.

I think you can get the Gamma Badminton Shoulder adaptors just US $9.95 for the set of 4.

    @ Alexccs
I actually have those. They came with the machine. Its just that any of the photos and videos that I have seen I have never seen them used. On similar setups I have only ever seen the K-mounts as you asee them in my photo. Ive strung 3 rackets now ad it has gone okay os far. perhaps I will try these and see if there is any benefit to using them.

Thanks for th replies and congrats. It is exciting getting into the stringing world. Haivng fun so far....i bit tedious at times though when you are a rookie

I saw in the above picture, the racket handle would hit the gripper ...
if that's true the you will not get 360 degree rotation.

could you take a picture of the racket handle just above the gripper ?
    thanks

After I posted the photo I knew someone would comment on that. The way it was set up and partly I guess with the angle the photo was taken, it does look like it would not pass over.

I wouldnt want to try and fit much more than a sheet of paper between the racket handle and gripper but it does make it over, so it has a true 360 rotation. I plan on stringing another racket tomorrow evening, so I will take a picture of the racket handle directly over the gripper.

    Sorry for the delay maa003,

Here is a photo of the racket handle directly over the grippr of the WISE. It doesnt have a lot of clearance but there is definitely 360 degree rotation. Between practice attempts and the real thing, I have strung 6 so far. I have strung 2 with overgrips and they rub slightly on the top of the gripper. It doesnt hinder the motion though. The ArcSaber 10 in the photo with original grip clears the gripper no problem.

Having fun stringing and dscovering little things on very attempt to make he process a little more efficent. The first couple took about 1.5 hours (a far cry from MarkA's 29 minute, 2 part video) and i have gone as high as 26lbs now.

^That's the 100% perfect, ideal situation to be in with the WISE - the rackets just clearing the gripper. The pull is then as close to horizontal as possible (and closest to the calibrated value).

I've just bought a new machine, I should make a new video, really...

I completely agree with you on the height of the gripper as it relates to the horizontal. As for your need to make a new video, I gotta say that your old one was a big help to me. Aside from some problems that I have encountered with shared holes and I had to figure out knotting from other sources. Other than that, I thought your video was excellent for getting the overall sequence and procedure; it helped me lots and I thank you for that Mark A.

If I manage another vid I'll make sure it's an old-pattern racket so you can all see the localized pre-weaving that deals with the three difficult shared holes up top:). Knots, I use Parnell for finishing and my own creation for starting.

    Back to the thread.

    MasterBlaster,

I finally decided to get my own stringing machine ( Inconsistent stringing jobs and itch to experiment with different strings and lb), after lot of research and learning about the machines, I zeroed on the configuration you have.

Any advice, words of wisdom ? ( Go for it ? ), might go for WISE couple of months ( or month) later.

Also can you list out any other accessories you bought for this configuration

    1. Load Spreader (At 12' clock position, saw in one of Kwun's video) any one ? where to get this ?
    2. Flying Clamps (What and where to buy ?)

My first post and long time guest on BC ! Thanks in advance for any help!!

Hey. Grats on your first post.
I had gone in with a friend on the stringing machine and he has been using it for awhile now.

Anyways, the machine has been great. Words of wisdom............definitely buy the machine if you arte looking to get into stringing. I never used the Gamma without the Wise, so I cant really help you with teh manual operation.

WHen I first started, I watched several videos and used an old practice racket to make my first few attempts. I had bought a reel of really cheap string as well while i was learning. I would say I strung about 5 rackets before tossing a high-end (my own ArcSaber10) on the thing to give it a try.

Yes I have load spreader and flying clamps. We found that you really need the flying clamps in afew situations. Bought those accessaries from MBS. Great to deal with. I buy all my string from there as well.

    Hope that helps.;)

    Congrats on your nice Machine!
Do you clamps fit badminton string? Did they come with the Gamma machine?

    Thanks!

I have a friend in San Diego who might get rid of his machine, he wants to upgrade to ES5 Protech.
