Ok, as a result of the discussions in this thread: http://www.badmintonforum.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10627 Badminton Central is holding a t-shirt design contest! the contest is very simple. interested contestants will design a t-shirt that has Badminton Central (and hopefully badminton) as the main theme. you can submit the design to this thread. when the contest is close, we will decide on a winner or two. then we will actually print and sell those t-shirts to the members of BC/BF. the rules is quite simple, we simply want a design with two graphics: - one pocket graphics that is at most 2.5-3.5" wide and 4.5". this goes on the left chest pocket area - one back graphics that is at most 10" wide and 14" tall. this goes on the back of the t-shirt. the fine print will be, as the designer, you grant all rights to BC/BF to reproduce and print your design onto t-shirts. this is neccessary as we want members to have access to it. let's get all entries in within one month, in other words, the close of the contest will be 8/8/2003. we will worry about the distribution of the t-shirts on a separate thread. any other questions concerning the contest please reply on this thread. but please stay on topic... cheers!
here are some design tip from the printer: Design Tips for Graphic Design Bold and Simple: Keep your design free of clutter and use only the graphics and words necessary to communicate your message or theme. It will increase the appeal and give it a timeless classic feeling. Avoid Tight registration and colors that touch. These are the hardest things to print and we recommend avoiding them when possible. An excellent separation distance is 1/8" of an inch. We also realize that some designs require this and we are more then happy to print them.
+ how do you attach images of the designs? I tried it and it seems you need some sort of page link (sorry, internet rookie!)
very nice matt! do you use a tablet to draw? Since i like a conservative and plain logo, i'll just go with: WWW.BADMINTONFORUM.COM Imagine navy text on a white background, or yellow text on a navy background. This is the rear design. As for the crest at the front, we can adapt the singapore one since it looks so good.
Nice designs Matt. Here goes. Did this on Paint, and the pocket logo is just a close-up on the raquet "BC". Had to make it smaller because of the size of it on disk (so less detail). Who knows how I can put the proper image forward? Use a different program? Aleik
Hi, Yup thats microsoft clip art. If one of those is chosen, please be careful about copyright laws? Matt
I don't know, but in our office we also use Microsoft cliparts for our file cover design and others like memos or company activities including company outing and bowling.
Kwun, who are the judges? whats color of the shirt your thinking of putting our design/s on? IMO white is nice. how many colors in the design?
wirey, very nice. i like it! fm, the judge will probably be a panel from the moderators. color, the fewer the better. but also make it look nice at the same time. something extreme like a photograph will be too expensive to print.
another 2 color design. Sorry about the blue though... it's my favorite color. Doesn't mean it can't be changed.
Hi all, Got another design. Background created by me, using shuttle (Clip art) and wording (word art) Matt
