    Thumbs up 2012 Malaysia Open SS: Sat 14-Jan (Semi-Finals)

    .
    The 2012 Malaysia Open SS Semi-Finals matches on Saturday 14-January

    For Schedule of Matches;
    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sp...223&d=20120114

    For Time in Malaysia;

    For Live Streaming, perhaps BCers from different countries can post the links that are working for their regions. Different countries sometimes cannot use the same links. I have just checked the BWF's link. It says the matches will commence in about 11 hours' time;

    For our BC PAW Game, Sandy has posted the Scoring Points;

    My pick of the matches:

    Saina v WYH - 2 allround player duke it out. You would think WYH has just a little too much for Saina but the IND girl has it in her to produce a result

    Tago v CJ - CJ got this far with no help ao he is not quite as dead as people think. The wacky Tago demolished Simon in the QF and offers a different kind of challenge than JOJ did. As always if Tago displays any inconsistency, CJ will grind him out

    LCW v CL - The fresh CL v the home backed LCW. This is the CBA's last card to derail LCW in this tournament because if CJ makes it, he will be eaten alive by LCW and the home fans. Basically, they are all-in.

    For Wang Xin vs Wang Shixian match, if LYB wants to make sure Wang Shixian in the top 4, he will let her into final.

    But if LYB is confident, then it will be a real match.

    Totally agree with your points. I tried to see their head to head and got this:

    all but one of their encounters were three sets and I will be happy if Saina can break the egg.
    And then for CJ, if he able to beat Tago, he surely will be blown out by LCW who I guess will try his best to make up his last loss against CL.

    I have a feeling that CL practise very hard to play with LCW, quite struggling with other players. Lets see if he can keep his momentum. Surely OG 2012 in mens single department are getting hotter!

    I'm expecting

    Xu/Ma & Zhang/Zhao to win

    I believe

    Wang Yihan to keep her 100% record against Nehwal

    I predict

    Chen Jin can overcome Tago

    I like to see

    JPN to win a title for this t'ment, and

    I'm hoping

    Chen Long and Lee CW can give us a classic to treasure for a long time.

    I am trying to say that maybe he is specifically practice to play LCW, not many players can stretch LCW like CL did nowadays, and I think, if you are able to do that, you shouldn't have much problems with other players. But CL still not really a formidable opponent for others IMO.

    Tontowi Ahmad / Liliyana Natsir vs. Xu Chen / Ma Jin - the chinese will win in a narrow margin. they need to solidify their ranking for the olympics against the 4th pair.

    Wang Yihan vs. Saina Nehwal - WYH has a overwhelming record against Saina so far. Saina hasn't been doing that well lately and while she got to this point with a favorable draw, this match will end her quest in Malaysia.

    Hirokatsu Hashimoto / Horiyasu Hirata vs. Fang Chieh Min / Lee Sheng Mu - are Fang / Lee back? this will be a good time to pick up some good form for the Olympics as well as trying to topple Malaysia in the Thomas Cup Prelims. we will see how they do against the higher ranked Japanese pair.

    Christinna Pedersen / Kamilla Rytter Juhl vs. Bao Yixin / Zhong Qianxin - hard to say, 50/50 game but i think the Danes might come out slightly ahead.

    Zhang Nan / Zhao Yunlei vs. Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying - against who?? it will be a good learning experience for the locals.

    Cho Gun Woo / Shin Baek Choel vs. Chai Biao / Guo Zhendong - Chai/Guo is in a mission here as they are dangling at the Olympics qualification.

    Ha Jung Eun / Kim Min Jung vs. Shizuka Matsuo / Mami Naito - the Koreans are really hot off coming 2nd in KO knocking out the thought to be invincible Chinese pair.

    Chen Jin vs. Kenichi Tago - tough call. these guys hasn't played each other since 2010 and Tago came out on top that time. but for sure it will be a long match. CJ is on a mission and he has to win this to narrow the gap against PG. he squandered a huge chance last week. we will see.

    Wang Xin vs. Wang Shixian - imho Wang Xin should just win every match she plays.

    Chen Long vs. Lee Chong Wei - well they have to leave the best to the last and when i am totally tired and sleeping don't they??????? this is LCW's homeground. i don't think even LD can beat him here. however, it will certainly be a hostile crowd and it will be a great experience for CL.

    CHN has trust CL to be the fore front with LD being the spoiler. Expecting an exciting last match.
    It's gonna be a long day. Rushing to the stadium now.

    both CL and LD are going to qualify with no problem. the energy of the whole team should now be trying to get CJ to London.

    for this MO, they already succeed by being lucky that PG lost to Tago. LD sacrifice himself by tiring out JoJ. but CJ will not return the favor to Tago because he needs the points. CL on the other side of the draw will either try to beat LCW or tire him out in a 3 game battle. in anycase if CJ gets into final it will be a few points closer to PG. if CL don't win he will get to experience and learn to play under a hostile crowd, 99% of the stadium will be cheering against him.

    Agree. I just like to point out CL is no less struggling with CW than with other players.... Yet he would be more excited when playing with LCW.... That's normally, any up-and-rising young player would be motivated to beat WR#1 player of course!

    A player of any sport, if just trained 'specifically practice' to play with just another player, it's committing suicide.

    And to beat LCW, there is no point to train specifically, cos LCW is so all rounded, and right handed. i.e. you also have to be all rounded. You cannot beat him by just excel in one department.

    if u want to beat LD, u need some special practice with left handers, cos he's left handed.

    Regarding CL struggling with other players, that comes from his inconsistency which is common for young players.

    I think you hit the nail on the head–motivation. Yes, CL does struggle (sometimes horribly) against regular level players but when LCW is placed in front of him, he turns into the dragon!
