I think you misunderstood my true meaning. Is not how he says it...but what he says in the interview. He could have address it even better or in a way as professional player like the tennis players by first thanking the crowd for their huge support and stress how important is it to win this grand occasion as well as expressing some respect to his opponent in the final

I was not very convinced by what he said during the interview..not expected from a World Number 1 professional player

In that case, your expection/standard is higher. MO is not grand occasion, just normal SS. The reporter ask, he just answer the question directly, no added 'flowers'. I think also not necessary,like so long winded (which I dont like ), there's another match coming up.
I've seen numerous LCW interviews, he is ok for badminton player, if compared to certain other badminton players.
