Thumbs up BWF World Junior Rankings

    .
BWF have now made the BWF World Junior Rankings available. It is aimed to be published on a weekly basis.

Some BCers might be surprised by the rankings shown by their first release (made on Thursday 12-January-2012):

    .
    Why surprised?

Because we cannot find a single CHN junior player/pair ranked in the Top 10 of any of the 5 categories (in this first release).

But watch out... Soon they will arrive.

I guess most young players in China are not registered in BWF, since they have to first pass the strong competition at home to be selected to the national team. On the other hand, the level of an international tournament is not necessary higher than a daily training session with their teammates, so why not save the money...

    .
In past years, many CHN junior players have been World Junior Champions. Therefore, I was expecting to find some CHN juniors ranked in the Top 10.

    Looking at the 5 categories, we find these top CHN juniors;

    Boys Singles:
    No.81 KAI Guo

    Girls Singles:
    No.39 YU Sun

    Boys Doubles:
    No.231 LUKAI Zhuge/YUCHEN Liu/JUNHUI Li/KAIYI Guo

    Girls Doubles:
    No.37 OU Dongni
    No.158 XIAOHAN Yuen/YAQIONG Huang/JIA Xiao/XI Zeng

    Mixed Doubles:
    No.50 OU Dongni
    No.223 JUNHUI Li/JIAJIA Xiao

And their names and family names are given by the western naming system.
