Currently using a modified Gamma 5800 6 point machine that comes with pre-stretch. Pre-stretch and high tension are not related to each other as one can choose to pre-stretch at any tension. Not all strings are advised to do pre-stretch either as it will severely affect its effective and intended durability. An example is BG80, being a hard string, is not advised to do so for durability reason. You can still do it but be prepared to snap it in a month, depending on your style of play too. BG66Ultimax can be done but will lose its feel quicker upon tension loss. Thus not advised for economical reasons. BG65, BG68TI would be ideal for pre-stretching as they are softer. Doing so will retain tension better. A stringer has to be one who understands the nature of the string he is stringing to provide the best recommendation. We have strung and played with almost all of the strings we are offering. Hence we are able to provide recommendations to the customer. Thanks for your interest.
