Dude needs to find some smaller knee supports.

And I agree that his partner seems mortified.

I will admit that I really hate it if my opponents are super vocal like that. The only time I will tolerate it or if I do it myself is between my badminton friends so we all know it's all in good fun =). For the opponents who over celebrate or like making remarks after each point, it irritates me and gets on my nerves. So I COMPLETELY understand what the guys in orange are feeling in that video. They really just want to get a birdie and smash it right into his face. However, the obnoxious guy, although not the tallest, is very good! Excellent defense, good speed, good determination (as you could see), good smash power.

I think where it get's ridiculous is when he starts to make noises when the shuttle is still in the air. He even yells when his PARTNER makes a shot. A great example of this is at 2:30 when he makes the flick serve and starts yelling as the opponent's clear is coming his way. And then he makes another sound when his partner makes the net kill to finish the point, even though he isn't even hitting the bird. That's where it get's overboard and I think one could appeal to the umpire that his vocalizations are too distracting lol.

That celebratory dance in-between point is unbearable. The guys in orange must be so intimated that they just wanted to get off the court. At this type of level of badminton , the players should act more professionally ......

I can understand that you might get this of incident when two 5 yrs old amateurs play against each other but as adult with a crowd watching as well , I am surprised the umpire did not give him a warning for un-sportsmanship behaviour

I wouldn't call it unsportsmanlike. That would be if he had stared at his opponents while he shouted and danced in celebration, which he never did once. As others have noticed, he and his partner are pretty good. He is just a tad too passionate and driven in the game. He could dial it down a notch or two. :p

As I said earlier , he might do it purposely to intimidate his opposition, this guy is unique , has anyone spotted his stance and movement around the court ...

The guy is actually very good. Can you imagine running round the court like that with ACL injuries?

I enjoyed the video. I like playing against people like that. Makes it all the more exciting!

We need more guys like him!!

Isn't this a match played in Taiwan?

I've lost track of how many times he dives for the bird. :p

Obviously he's had previous bilateral knee injuries and that makes him all the more intense and driven when he plays. Poor guy is being run all over the place by his opponent who really takes advantage of his weaknesses. :)

BTW, that sounds like Hokkien to me...

The more precise depiction of this type of player would be a great and fun opposition to play with. In fact the younger guy (i think he's younger) who obviously has more deceptive strokes should be less serious and laugh a little at the older guys's antics who is such a good sport and never gives up. But of course I draw the line at players who cheat at all cost ie line calls although his intention is to win.

Wow ok I had no idea he was so old because it was hard to tell from the videos. That just made my respect and admiration for him shoot up really high.

He's actually aged 48, though he looks older with his scant grey mop. :p

Is a plumber as well as a medium to the deities, if my understanding is correct. WOW!

Not when he start cheating like he did on 1.10-1.11 in the video when the shuttle was clearly in and he called it out and the time delay he takes on every single point. ... it would be funny to play him in practice match but he will drive anyone mad in the tournament ........
