Hi. I'm an average player and I like smashing a lot though I don't want to sacrifice control. Well I'm about to buy a Voltric 80 and I'm going to use BG66 strings but I don't know what tension to get. I think I'll either go 23-26lbs. But I don't know the differences. Can you guys recommend and explain to me real quick?

    Thank you!!!

what tension did you used to use? 25lbs give or take would be a good start without making it too loose or hard tensioned

25 for the weaker smashers 27 for a strong smasher
it depends whats good for you, if you've got amazing power, then i would go with higher tension to make sure your shots are staying within the lines. if you're a weaker person, use lower tension to help make your shots harder and farther. I'm a pretty strong guy so i take bg 85 with 27 tension. this gives me control and i can supplement the missing power with just a stronger snap from the wrist.

BG66 UM has better string life than BG66, however, over time the string will lose tension and the feel will gradually become "dead". To me, BG66 UM is one of the best strings when "fresh". Great repulsion, feel, control and hitting sound.
