Do doubles player like Cai Yun and Fu Hai Feng start off as Singles player?
Do doubles player like Cai and Fu start off as singles player first? or do they pair up before entering the national team and enter provincial doubles competition and get picked?

my understandin is Cai Yun, started off as single player but because of his health condition back then, that he switch to doubles. cant rem about fu haifeng. got this info from the badminton magazine
