Hi. I am planning to buy a new tube of shuttlecocks for mysef for the first time. (I always used to use other people's) Well I came across the mavis 350 and mavis 2000 and I was just wondering which ones are better and why? Thanks!
2000's are better slightly better feel, hence touch shots are easier to do able to slice more due to the skirt design that sticks out as on feather birds lasts a bit longer, flight remains unchanged despite visible wear but nothing beats good feather birds
IME the M2000's feather "tips" are the first bits to deform (outwards), and they're a lot weaker than the contiguous top of a 300/350. Thus, the M2000 will lose speed faster.
I am playing Mavis 300 and 350 green, and it is good. Should i change it to Mavis 2000 blue, is it too fast?
try this forum, it's got info on which type of speed is best for an area: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-18605.html But in the end though it's down to personal perference
I would recommend you use 300's. 2000's are okay, but I absolutely hate 350's. If you have you use 350 because it's slower, you're better off just using cheap feathers.
That is not what I experienced with them. They do not last as long as 350. I bought the blue 2000 and they were faster than blue 350. So @mxr_071 I suggest that you use the slow 2000 instead. They will break pretty fast at the places shown by en1018. Your last sentence is absolutely true!
I suppose it depends on different batches. However even with those little breaks, flight and play is not affected. Wheras 300's will wobble and change speed with breaks, these won't.
I prefer Mavis 500. Good flight and good durability. Have to say I never played Mavis 2000. But from 300, 350 or 500 I would go for 500.
At my club the ones that use nylon always play with the Mavis 500, since they are more durable than the 300 we used to have. I ordered the 2000 myself once, but even though I chose the blue ones (just like the 500 en 300 we always have) they seemed to be to fast and therefore hard to play with. So despite temperatureconditions there might be cases where you're better off picking the green one. Unfortunately the green ones are very hard to get in The Netherlands, and if you import them the prices are a lot higher. Nylons are cheap here anyway, I think they are used more then average in our country. (Blue 2000 is 9,60 EUR, green 2000 cheapest I could find on Ebay to import 13 EUR. Mavis 500 is at 9,60 EUR and Mavis 300 at 8,75 EUR)
Try the Mavis 2000, they play similar to feather shuttles even though the durability isn't there like the Mavis 350, its still a better decision to try the Mavis 2000
I bought a tube of the 2000 yesterday and used one today. It is actually similar in flight to mid-range feather. Especially the Li-Ning A70+. Much better than the 300 and the 350.
Mavis 2000 FTW. - good spinning - doesn't wobble if the tips break - feels like feather - doesn't travel like bullet when smash hard - longer rallies
I like the 2000 and as we play through our older Yonex 300 and 350 stock, I'm replacing them with new 2000 shuttles.
