Thread: Authentic Yonex Voltric 80? :)

Hi ioxyg3n520,
the date code on the cone stated as 09/11/ 2011 instead of 2012... the last digit is mean for (assumed) batch number, i think. Furthermore, all the engraved digit does seems like original YONEX number pattern. Hence.... my advise is... just enjoy your VT80, she is fine!!
Personally, i cant fault your VT80. To me it seem legit to me. If you are still doubt about it authenticity, get back to the seller then. I'm sure he is more than willing to discuss the matter with you.
Hope this help.
Cheers!
Best regards,

I've bought my VT80 LTD from RKEP and it's legit. Seems strange that all of a sudden he would sell fakes.

store name and the price is the most reliable indicator of racket authenticity.

oh my God..
I'm gone and then things like this happens
091112TW
means day 09, November 2011 for Taiwan distribution
the number 2 is not included, it could be batch number, it could be revision number (we don't know for certain but this number should not be 0)
RKEP Eric (aka Squash_Mart in Ebay) is legit dealer based on Taiwan
so the cone code definitely right, it's a TW code racket
the number also looks right
it reach 3XXXXXX in Nov 2011 while previously in Feb 2011 they reach 9999999 and go back to 24XXXXX
butt cap also fine, the colour is right and the logo looks goodLast edited by Avenger; 02-07-2012 at 07:08 PM.

If you bought from Eric at squash_mart, I woudln't even question its authenticity. He's an authorized Yonex dealer, and all his items are geniune! Go smash some birds rather than worrying!

if you do not know the series number means that please do not guess randomly
whole series number: 3004576 091112TW
first part is racket number
2nd part on the cone is batch number + final country code TW
there is not any year number or month number on it
to confirm the series number that please contact YONEX branch
TW number contact YONEX Taiwan

Ok. I'm not questioning its authenticity right now, but on the 2nd and last image, you can see that when the racket is placed flat down on a desk, the "Voltric 80" letters do not face directly up in the middle, but leans to the upper side. Is that normal? Because on some pictures I see those letters face directly up in the middle.

Right once and for all:
This is a legit Yonex racket.
Firstly: Eric is a legit dealer, 100% reputation on here, never heard a bad thing from anyone about service or products. Therefore there should never ever be a problem ordering from him.
Secondly: the serial codes suggest the racket is legit. As previously mentioned, the codes went back to (I believe from my list) 238xxxx back in 2011.
Thirdly: from the aesthetics, the racket is legit. Speaking from looking at the one that I have, and foremost others i have seen. Fake ones I've seen, have the typical tell tale signs, as well as on VT80's the gold patches being lighter shades than on the real one.
Don't worry, enjoy your racket
Case closed.

I don't have VT80
but VT80 is one model that Yonex really messed up in term of paint quality
I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happens
I don't know why, but people come here and their first post trying to ruins people's life by judging it's a fake
even for opinion, it should be supported with evidence

Hi. Thank you all. I understand that you guys have confirmed that it is a real racket, but I just noticed something about the paintjob on the head of the racket and I really want to know if it is supposed to be that way. Well, as you can see one side has the dark shade reaching all the way up to the thin "red" line and the other side's dark shade does not get close to the thin red paint.

As Eric said
''2nd part on the cone is batch number + final country code TW
there is not any year number or month number on it ''
Just because you posted 1000+ post , does not make you an expert , please get your fact right before criticizing other forum members ;
To Ioxy, sorry you didnt get my sense of humor earlier , but honestly dont worry about the racket , it is 100% genuine from what I can see. The paintjob of my Yonex rackets are like that as well, (it is not perfect) since it is spray painted by human. As long as the racket feels good , there is nothing to worry about . You should be smashing some shuttle instead of going on here worrying about the racket.
