Are Shuttles Recyclable / Biodegradable?

    Exactly as the title reads. When I first thought of this question, I was only thinking about nylon shuttles. But I guess the question also applies to feather shuttles.

    For nylon shuttles, the cork portion is definitely biodegradable as long as the leatherette portion is peeled off. But what about the nylon skirts? Does anyone know if those are recyclable? And if so, where?

    For feather shuttles, the initial expectation might be that everything should be biodegradable. After all, the cork portion came straight from a tree, and the feathers were plucked from those poor geese. Upon a more careful inspection, however, you'll see that the stalks of those very feathers are completely covered by globs of glue. Somehow, I don't think glue would be very biodegradable...
