Hi everyone, I was wondering why MX80 is quoted as stiff 0oooo and Head heavy o0ooo whiles sw35 is 0oooo and head heavy oo0oo, sw35 is harder to use/handle than MX80? Also, is SW37 head heavier than MX80? as some posts saying that MX80 is kind of even balance and sw37 is slightly heavy head. But it is not what is written in the victor web site, coz sw37 head heavy is only oo0oo.
yah, victor is kinda confusing here mx80 is rated 5/5 stiff and 4/5 head heavy, while sw 35 is rated 5/5 stiff and 3/5 head heavy, and sw 37 is 3/5 and 3/5 by victor in reality, sw 35 is the stiffest and head heaviest with bp around 300mm, while mx80 is around 293 and sw 37 is around 290 if all 3 rackets were the exact same weight, then sw 35 by the very nature of its specs and in reality, is the hardest to wield,.... but it is supposed to have excellent feel and power if you're able to wield it...
Emmm.... Just bought SW37 and will post some review of it on Monday since need to go back to Trengganu tonite
I got mine yesterday... Gonna make a short review of it tomorrow night after my 1st game with it. Btw TS, do u know that head heavy or light is adjustable? Using heavier grip or double gripping will make head lighter. Stringing also a factor to balance. The spec from the website should be frame only readings. Hence some ppl feel mx80 is even balance. (just an assumption) I had my sw37 with yonex supergrap and BG66UM strung at 26lb check the balance point surprisingly at 294mm which is consider quite head heavy
Nah, "quite head heavy" would be 300-305. 295 is slightly head heavy, while 285-290 is even balanced.
even balance for me is between 285-290 290 onwards consider head heavy for me.... Well maybe I should use the term "slightly" instead of "quite" my bad
ikki9394, whats the wet weight of your racket? and is your racket a 3u or 4u? my sw37 is (4u) - 675mm, 92.9g, 290mm (nbg98 + rkep g09 purple at 10% overlap)
I have tried mx80 today. It is excellent and super fast. I guess I would not consider other racket just now. It is very good to me. But still wanna know the specs or review of sw37.
mx80 - super stiff, bp around 300mm sw37 - medium, bp around 290mm maybe flex of shaft affects the feeling of head heaviness as well?
Good point. And vice versa too. Head wt and shaft stiffness are inherently interdependent and both must be considered together to determine how a racket swings and hits.
i recently bought sw35 and just got to use it yesterday. Given the rave reviews regarding the racket, i was disappointed with the racket. Compared to both arc 8dx and volt80, the racket felt dead and i am not sure how to categorise it, whether it's mainly for heavy hitters or all round players. What's more depressing was that my initial intention was to buy bs10, but got this instead. smashes were flat and often mistimed, and lifts/clears were weak. it was not due to technique as i got no such problem when switching to arc8dx or volt80. currently, i am using bg66@ 26 lbs. Is it normal that 4 of the lower section grommets of the horizontal strings are empty? the string job looks weird to me. i'll have to confirm it again later. anyway, i'll try the racket again later and probably test another string to play with.
empty grommets? doesn't sound good. I owned a SW35 once. It was good; athough I get tired after an hours play. Since you own and ARC8DX and a VT 80, you shouldn't have any problem with the SW35.
The graph says it all .... from what NeverWalkAlone said, SW aint smooth and losses slighty in stability to METEOR. I guess the chart that victor gave really prove some point there. Need to work our on the spot where it is consider low
