You need to visit the club to get the standard - because my idea of advanced may be your idea of beginner (and vice versa).
My dad has a club in Guildford. They play on a Monday at a local school for 2 hours. The club is not part of a league and does not play any matches, only for fun. They use plastic shuttles only. PM me if you are interested.
