A few years (5 yrs?) ago I remember seeing a list on here which showed the string, tension and racquet that many of the top professional players were using at the time. Since quite a number of new strings and racquets (not only Yonex) has been released in that time, it would be interesting to see if the pros have changed their preferences. It would also be interesting to see what the general consensus is (if there is one)amongst professional players. Does anyone have a more recent/up to date version of this table? Or if people know what one pro is using, I can create a list here? Just want to know: Player, Racquet, String and Tension
There's a recent list in the past 6 months somewhere. Iirc most players using yonex go for bg80 or bg66 at 28-32 lbs.
I did see one rummaging around the forum but if there is a recent list somewhere, that would be good.
forgot where is the picture with Lee Chong Wei racket with 30lbs... here is one more picture of KKK racket.. it stated 29lbs
Not important, but would be interesting to know - I'd imagine they would restring after each match? Or at most they would play 2 matches with the same strings. I would be surprised if they play more than 2 matches with the same strings.
alanwong76, thanks for the photo. I'm always interested to see authentic "behind the scenes" photos of the professional player world. Please post more if you have any!
It would appear so, which is somewhat surprising considering that there are other better 'performing' strings available, such as the BG66, BG80 and NBG 98. I really like the BG65ti though - I think it is an excellent string; a personal favourite of mine.
I've heard a lot of people say that about Ti string. However, it's not much of an issue for me as I don't tend to slice the shuttle. I like the sound the Ti strings give.
Well, I owned an Arc 7 for all of a week, and it was absolutely useless at 30. Needed taking further than I was prepared to go (but I doubt I'd reach 37).
Had the pleasure of meeting Alan Kakinami at the AE last week and noticed him stringing these: Indonesia's Sugiarto's BG65 at 31lbs and Hong Kong's Tze's BG80 at 30lbs
I saw the Yonex stringers stringing Taufik Hidayat's racquet at 33/36 with BG66UM at the AE last week.
We were using ES5 Pros. Regular mounting, not stretching. It was interesting at some of the tensions Layborn was REALLY REALLY REALLY different. Higher than Taufiks.... Whatever his was....
