Cool, it's about time they should start making a comic about this sport. Can't wait to have it coming out in Chinese or English. :)

The player's clothes and racquets all have Yonex's logo. I wonder if it is also sponsored by Yonex.

I did not read this story (can't read japanese anyway :D ) yet, but base on my knowledge about sports related comics, always happened in a so-call high school team here or there.

Look at the courts, look like professional tourny use ones, geez... If they really have this kinda facility in a high school, I will be really jealous... :(

If all the main characters (always end up winning the champ.) all using Yonex, and their opponents all using Gosen, Ashway, Mizuno, Winex, Babolat, etc, then, we get the answer. ;)

i think the court is just comic version of the Japan Open stadium (Yoyogi National Stadium).

likely that all the winner will be Yonex, i doubt a Japanese comic will show somebody winning with Babolat... Mizuno or Gosen, maybe....

If you pay attention to the sidebar on the right, you'll see that the main characters are (big surprise!) once again 14 years old (grade 9?). I'm not sure why the Japanese have this fetish with 14 years old kids (incidentally, the kids from Evangelion, among many others, are also 14), but I guess whatever sells, eh?

The comic must've been sponsored by Yonex - you can't use another company's trademark for commercial reasons for free. After all, this could be another one of Yonex's marketing strategy? ;)

I'd probably say you'd only see Yonex there... the Japanese are proud of their own product brands, and why not? It's cheaper and is on par or better quality as American or European products.

I'd predict this comic to make its way to lower Asia, really soon, being that the brand is trying to recapture the market enroached by those clonexes... :D

*snigger* seems like I'm not the only one who had the same idea here... :D
Not really just 14-year olds but teenagers between 13 - 18, mostly 16 and 18.

Actually I saw the pictures from Shuttle House while I was browsing through their Gosen Catalogue. It looked interesting so I did a search to find the website. :D

Hopefully it will be translated to other languages and distributed in other countries!

Hmmm...... I suppose they thought the audience must be able to relate to the ppl in the comic. Makes sense, I didn't think about that!

Isn't the "everyone can be a hero" dream making books have better sells?

If all the heroes and pros are just like HS kids, making everyone thinking, "hey, next one could be me tomo..." ;)

    Re: video game

It's already released! On the 23rd of May 2003!

I used Altavista Translator to shed some light and this was the result.

    Translated URL.

Seems that the game is relatively simple though as you only need to use the mouse.

I hope they make an anime series related to badminton. Such like Prince of Tennis, which is a really good anime in my opinion.
