I want to improve my wrist power, and speed Should I buy a 120g, 140g racket and play with it to warm up? or should I buy the wrist training ball? or any other training idea, please let me know
a heavier racket within 130g give-or-take would be useful yes. I don't always use it on warm-up specifically because it messes with my swing and timing, but on training or on drills for power / strength i do use the heavy racket
there are too many type of powerball? which one cheap and good? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Powerball Gyro&_sop=15
You can try dumbell twists - I stick them on the end of biceps at the gym. Hold a light (1-2 kg) dumbell out in front of you, palm up, with your forearm horizontal and your elbow at 90 degrees. Turn the dumbell over and back again (twisting your wrist only - keep your forearm still) as fast as you and as many times as you can in, say, 15 seconds, then switch hands (for symmetry). This mimics the fast contractions that happen during power shots. You're not lifting the weight, only working against its inertia. When this gets too easy, just increase the weight or the time.
any model will do depends which ball you like and with or without the digital meter, but not the metal light series, those ball are for advance people... normal version is 260g heavy but the metal light is 560g...
well I use the original power ball to strengthen my wrist after seriously spraining it during a cycling accident ( I went flying over the handlebar). works great for that.
I use both Powerball and Apacs Training W200. If you stay in KL/PJ area, KD Sports sells the Apacs Training series. There's the 120g, 140g, 160g models which you should check beforehand. The Powerball is a superb investment you should make, IMHO.
200g racket? how is it? I will buy the powerball, not sure about the 200g racket for you, is it worth if I want to be a pro player?
IMHO, and i'm not affiliated in any way with NSD (the guys who make Powerballs), Powerballs are worth it for anyone. Even if they are not sportsmen/women. As for the training racket, i only use it for warming up before and between matches.
I have the 250Hz Classic and the Signature Pro. Planning to buy 2 more 250Hz Classics for mom and pops and a Fusion Pro for record attempts. Now i'm just about touching 12,000 rpm. If you plan to warm up, do as fast as you can go, 3 sets of 10 secs. If you want to build endurance and strength, aim for 9,000 - 11,000 for 30 secs. Do 5 sets. Have 30 secs of rest in between sets. Do more sets to get better results.
I bought one 3 weeks ago, is fusion pro with digital meter. max i can go 11.5k RPM, i do it when i free... approx 3 to 4 hours per day... and now i can spin around 8mins with the speed approx 6k RPM.... and 1min + with the speed approx 9k RPM ^_^ looking forward to get my wrist stronger
hmm, there are too many type of powerball to buy, Im looking for a cheap one with very high max RPM for the long run, Can you give me suggestion? Im thinking about this one, just no speed meter Dynaflex PRO
