    The 2012 All England SSP Qualification Matches

    For our interested BCers, let's take a look at the matches of the 2012 All England SSP on Qualification Day.

    For Schedule of Matches;
    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/sport/matches.aspx?id=308E19F0-EF7A-406C-8521-B862219B169A

    For Time in the UK;
    http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_GB.aspx

    For Live Streaming, perhaps BCers from different countries can post the links that are working for their regions. Different countries sometimes cannot use the same links.

    For our BC PAW Game, Sandy could be posting it later. I shall post it here in this thread when it is ready.

    2012 All England SSP: 4 Qualification matches removed

    .
    Any BCers know the reasons why we have the 1 'No Match' and the 3 'Walkovers' on Qualification Day?

    No match means one of the participants (higher ranked among the two) has been moved up to the main draw. The remaining participant gets a bye to the next round in the qualification stage.

    Walkover means, walkover - as in somebody did not turn up to play. The winner moves to the next round too.

    Only 3 matches removed

    3 Withdrawn cases - causing 2 walkover.
    1 Promoted to Main Draw (someone in Main Draw withdrew) and as it happened, the initial opponents also withdrew, therefore there is no match.

    These things happen frequently in tournaments.

    Both abedeng and hcyong have answered your question clearly ;)
    Chayut Triyachart/Yao Lei have been promoted into main draw to replace Danish XD Mads Pieler-Kolding/Julie Houmann withdrawal.

    Because of the OG, this tournament has suffered its prestige or popularity. Sad. ;)

    The media said, if CJ does well, then we will not see a good show. If CJ goes down early, then we may see a slightly better show, if LD shows interest. Sad. ;)

    The prestige or popularity hangs on the performance of these two MS?

    Honestly Hafiz is so much more superior than Chan it's not funny, But we know what HH is capable of.

    HH 16-7

    Hafiz made CYK look like a rank amateur en route to his 21-11 G1 win

    and there was no reserve mixed doubles pair to take their spot in the qualifying.

    A bit of useless knowledge: The term "walkover" comes from horse races, in races when only one horse started (quite common if only the winner got prize money and there was a clear favorite), the horse had to "walk over" the track to win the race. For Badminton a "serve-over" would be more appropriate :D

    Despite his yoyoness, HH is too much for CYK, demolishing him 21-11, 21-15
