. Round 2 matches of the 2012 All England SSP What a late finish for Round 1? It finished at 2:55am in the morning. Fortunately, Round 2 will commence at 3:00pm on Thursday 08-March-2012. Febe still survives. She might be the one qualified for Olympics instead of Firda. Tough match for Kindra but their points in AE even if they only reach round 2 is 4320 which will put them ahead of Alvent but will it be enough for top 8 ranking at the end of April. There are still 3 Japanese MD(2 are thru to round 2), Fang/Lee and the third rank China MD is doing well.
Five matches of today's R/16 will be played on TV court (for INA viewers, MNC Sports 1 channel 300 will broadcast LIVE tonight, starting time : 22.00 WIB) : 1) MD : Chris Adcock/Andrew Ellis (ENG) v Jung Jae-sung/Lee Young-dae [2] (KOR) 2) WD : Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnapa (IND) v Tian Qing/Zhao Yunlei [2] (CHN) 3) MS : Lee Chong Wei [1] (MAS) v Hans Kristian-Vittinghus (DEN) 4) WS : Wang Shixian [3] (CHN) v Eriko Hirose (JPN) -- rematch of last year's final 5) MD : Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (INA) v Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [3] (DEN)
The major upsets of the 1st round are the defeats of PHG (S4) and Wang Xin (S2) to unseeded opponents. The loss of PHG spells the end of his appearances in the A-E which he won once. It is sad that PHG exited so early and that could mean that CJ would have a chance to qualify for a spot in 2012 OG
Like in R1, the last R2 match is scheduled at 9:20pm. Granted there won't be the same backlog but the organizers are really pushing it in terms of finish time. I dare say it'll be past midnight again.
Matches to watch: • TH v CJ • Rat v SJH • TTY v Schenk • Markis/Hendra v BoMo • Towi/Butet v HHB/BYX... upset alert!
too bad this match not on TV court, ro else it would be epic... and for Koo/Tan, if they did finally beaten Ko/Yoo, why can't they do the same thing to Hong Wei/Shen Ye... unless Koo/Tan put their super form against the new uprising chinese pair...
-Taufik vs CJ: Voting for Uncle Taufik! -CWF vs LD : Hope CWF play his best -LCW vs HKV: HKV's looking forward for this match, dangerous for LCW -WYH vs LX: Just wanna see if WYH will go 'soft' on LX
poor guy. lin Dan is on autopilot to beat the hell out of the guy with name 'chong wei' or thereabout
I still can't understand silly why BWF apply the rules for only use 4 courts and each play consist of 40 minutes play
