So recently Yonex have released for sale their newest Voltric flagship racket. I'm wondering, which version out of the two have you guys found better, the heavier 3U or the lighter 4U? Is there a loss of control with the 3U? Does the 3U drain stamina quickly and become tiring to hold? Does the 4U have much less power? Any other pieces of info would be great. Also does anyone know when the Z Force will be on sale in the UK? Thanks!
Personally i suggest 3U. You won't notice the difference in speed. However 3U have more punch compare to 4U.
So 3u for power? I've read it's alot more tiring to use thoughhttp://everythinggoeshere.blogspot.com/2012/03/yonex-voltric-z-force-3u-versus-4u.html?m=1
nah, i find the 3u pretty difficult to handle. even LCW had to retire due to the stress it put on his shoulder during the all-england. if you're intermediate and plan to play around 2-3 hours with it a session i reckon you should stick to 4u, the lower end if possible
Same here and i'm more of an average player in double games mostly, tats why 4U is my preferred choice.
I think the the ZF will be available in UK on 20/03 according to http://www.mauricerobinsonsports.com/c.php?c=1470&n=Yonex_Voltric_Z-Force at 209 pounds!!!!, tennisnuts.com mentioned it will be available on 12/03 but they didn't update their website... Btw, I mainly play double and the racquet I'm using just now is a 2UG4 Carbonex 10 SP, I can play with the racquet for 2-3 hours without problem, Should I buy 3U or 4U? I assumed my 2U Carbonex 10 SP is way way heavier than the 3U or 4U as the racquet is more than 10 years old.
I don't think that the racquet was the reason for his injury, I mean he's probably the best athlete in world badminton today so he can surely handle it. Having said that, I also believe that the increase in power which 3U offers is generally more worthy than that little bit of extra maneouvrability, seeing as the Z-Force isn't exactly designed for fast handling.
If you were playing from back, you'll wish you had the 3U. According to DinkAlot' review http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...e-Yonex-Voltric-Z-Force-Review-by-Ants/page32, lack in defense is minimal. If you still decide on the 4U, keep the tension lower than what you'd have in the 3U.
Hmmm i've had no issue doing clear from end to end using 4U so far. Juz hav to work on the timing still adjusting to it hahaha. I'm not an all time aggressive attacking player hence is working ok for me so far when come to smashes. Probably 3U is good to generate the extra power ?
So do you all agree that the extra power in the 3U is worth more than the little extra maneuverability in the 4U? I am looking for more power in the racket this time, as I'm finding the voltric 70 a bit on the light side, not too much power. I'm still wondering about what you have experienced about whether you get tired or not from holding the 3U for about 2-3 hours. I also do prefer singles over doubles.
If you want extra maneuverability, what you need is to practice and train your reflexes. I used to use a 4U racket because i think it is easier to handle. But the problem is not the racket, its is me. So i did some weights and trained myself better in handling a 3U or even a 2U racket.
Too much speculation that LCW hurt his shoulder using a new racquet... To be honest if LCW felt any pain and he attributed to the ZForce... He can a) Change to 4U or b) Change back to VT80 or AT900P
Changing back from VTZF to VT80 or even 900P is quite hard for him, in my opinion. Simply because, if he changed to it, it will make the sales of VTZF drops, and certainly Evil Empire does not want this happening. However, there is a possibility as well since Taufik manages to use Arc 10 back after using Z slash & Z slash TH. I just wish LCW could reach his peak at OG2012...
if he wanted to change to VT80 and yones wanted to promote the VTZ, they would paint a VT80 in the VTZ style for him...;-)
@Sealman - I dont think so dude I have compared balance points of 4U and 3U of VTZF The results for both are equals at 315 mm.
