Winter Doubles Tournament
The Western Badminton Club is holding its Winter Doubles Tournament on March 23-24, 2012! Come out to play or cheer on your friends! The format of the tournament will be ABCD flight system, so there are many chances to win a tournament prize! We have $200 worth of raffle gifts to give away and $1000 worth of prizes for ALL FLIGHT FINALISTS provided by Ly Sports (http://www.lysports.com/)! So donít miss this chance and sign up! FREE DINNER/SNACKS provided by Little Panda Restaurant (http://www.littlepanda.ca/) for MAR 24. Yellow nylon shuttles will be used and provided by the club. However, feather shuttles will be allowed if both teams agree (self-provided) This event is open to all players of any level.
Schedule & Venue:
Friday, March 23 - 6:15pm to 9:30pm @ Western Rec Centre Upper Gyms.
Door open at 6pm for players. Matches start at 6:15pm
**MEN DOUBLES START**
Saturday, March 24 - 2:15pm to 11:30pm @ Thames Hall Gyms.
Doors open at 2pm for players. Matches start at 2:15pm
**WOMEN/MIXED DOUBLES START**
Registration, Fee, & Events:
Members: $5. Pay at the Front desk of Rec Centre
Non-members: $15. Pay in-person/ on-line: (http://shop.westernmustangs.ca/Cours...2-d8c507eedc13)
Registration start Mar 8 - Mar 20th. Based on FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. Make sure to register accordingly by membership status and gender.
**ALL participants must pay first and then e-mail Dominic at email@example.com regarding the event(s) you will be participating in and your Partner(s) Name / Partner Request. Only complete registrations (payment and e-mail) will be put into the tournament draws. Draws will be posted on http://www.uwobadmintonclub.ca/tournament/ on Mar 22.
- Men's doubles (limit of 24 pairs)
- Women's doubles (limit of 16 pairs)
- Mixed doubles (limit of 24 pairs)
Players will be wait listed if reached capacity however limits may increase
What to Bring:
- Indoor/non-marking shoes are required
- ABCD flight system

- Guaranteed at least three matches in each event
- Matches will be played best two games out of three
- 21 points rally point system will be used
- Warm up time: 2 mins
- If teams do not show up within 5 mins to their game, they are disqualified
Additional Tournament Details:
$1000 worth of prizes for finalists of ALL FLIGHTS!
Every player will be entered into RAFFLE for chance to win $200 worth of gifts!
