shuttlecock: let's rename it.
who's practical joke is this? naming our favorite little feathery friend: shuttleCOCK?
if we want badminton to be taken serious around the world, especially in the USA, perhaps we should rename it to something that sounds better than that.
so please if you have any suggestions, list them here.

Well, ball usually refers to a spherical object, which the shuttle unfortunately is not.
If we're throwing names out there, might as well be thoughtful!
I saw we call it the shuttleplume, since plumes refer to a bird's feathers
That way it stays true to the original name and meaning since "cock" refers to "the adult male of the domestic chicken" according to merriam webster.
It's not too bad =p.Last edited by Tactim; 03-07-2012 at 02:51 AM.

i don't think nasa is going to sue bwf for this anyways, since the nasa shuttle program ended in aug 2011...
