so for the nth time, i tried tonight make a video of my whole stringing process.

i thought since i will be upgrading my machine soon, i should make a video using my old machine, kinda for sentimental purposes.

so everything was going well, i was going pretty fast, in fact, i was only a few cross string from done at 19min 30sec. i checked the camera, it was still good and running.

so i quickly finished. and then i looked at the camera again (this must be around 21min or so).

it was off. black. the screen shows nothing.

looking back at the video itself, it stopped at around 20min 30sec. the last moment in the video showed that i was about to finish the last weave and tie off the string.

a 21 minute stringing job video now pretty much worthless.

so i think i am forever cursed. this must be the 5th time i tried it, either i bumped the tripod, or my head is on the way, or the string snapped due to murphy's law.

i am sure i will attempt another one again. keeping my fingers crossed.

I still don't know how you guys manage to string the whole racket in 20 minutes, that's probably what it takes me just to do the mains :\.

I think I've read about every single technique on here, but I'm just slow :p

practice, practice. with more practice and more thoughts and analysis along the way, you can do it too!

also having a good machine helps too. the WISE is immensely helpful.

i have never broken the 20mins mark. even this 21mins one, i am forcing myself to go fast all the way.

there gotta be some bottleneck in the flow. the question is how to get rid of the bottleneck without affecting the quality of the stringjob.

    more to learn!

    thanks!

i am going to try again. learning from the issues last night. probably means that i need to stop the cam and let it cool down after i finish the mains.

but i look through the video last night. everything else look good. good camera angle and lighting.

    tonight will be it.

I feel the same, but I do the mains pretty fast... I am just incredibly slow when it comes to weaving the crosses.

At least I enjoy stringing racquets :p

i enjoy my 25-30mins stringjobs. pretty comfortable pace and relaxing.

21mins was not enjoyable. too rushed.

kwun, maybe you're jinxed with this video b/c you are spending too much time for our benefit.
Give yourself a break: go for a hike; take the family out for supper; plant a garden; learn to knit.

Come back refreshed and then you can worry about the perfect video for this motley crew. :)

    :crying:

    still cursed.

managed to do a sub-6 mins mains! but the camera quit on me again around 2 mins into the cross.

i didn't noticed until i was more than half way done.

so next time i will switch to a different camera. but that also means that the image quality won't be as good as the ones i have released before. bummer.

I am using a Sony NEX 5N. it is common for these cams to overheat during video.

i might just be too hot for it to handle.

    another attempt.

at least this time i have the complete video.

but the process wasn't smooth at all. never really in the groove today. yesterday i was more in the zone. today i ended up with having to fix one misweave and various other bump and knocks here and there.

and the whole thing ended up being nearly 24mins. which is ok i guess but i'd rather have a perfectly executed stringjob.

anyway, the video is being rendered right now and i will upload it.

hopefully i will be able to get a better one made later this week.

24 minutes and you are not happy with the bumps here and there :D. Come one now, I am happy with a SLOW 45 minutes job.

    finally!

i have made another one. this one with ARC7 + ZM62New.

total length is around 23 mins. very dull and boring stuff. i fell asleep twice watching it. but i hope someone will learn something from it!

    enjoy!

You may be honest, but you'll never get a job at Warner Brothers Pictures marketing & promotions department.
