Looking at the WS, Lydia Cheah misses the main draw by the skin of her teeth. However a withdrawal will see her promoted.

Then at Q#3 and Q#4 are two of my faves–Nozomi and HHY. :)

In the main draw, anxious to see Wang Lin's progress from her injury. It's been a long recovery process for her. She sneaks in at #27. CHN represents 1/4 of the main draw–amazing!

Are the Korean top players like LYD and the MAS Koo/Tan, LCW are already training hard for the OG and skip the AC therefore? Or is there another reason why they are not playing?

Interesting that CHN send all players... The AC seem more important to CHN than to KOR or MAS or INA...

This is not too unusual. Korea is sending all the players whose London tickets are not secure, plus the two WS players, whose tickets should be confirmed. China sent an understrength team in 2008 to the BAC, without Du Jing, Xie Xingfang, Zhang Ning or either top MD pair. This is the run-up not only to the Olympics, but also to the Thomas & Uber Cups so nobody wants an injury.

Not surprisingly JJS/LYD and KSH/YYS not playing this tourney as they are preparing diligently at home for what is ahead. When we see them play in a few months time, we may be surprised, we'll see!

Good to see Bae Youn Joo and Sung Ji Hyun playing as Korea's two best singles players... I wish them good luck in this tourney and hope they bring surprises! :)

Hope Kim Ha Na / Jung Kyung Eun will also do well and make amends for their defeat in Sydney

Indeed, also Boonsak and LD are his possible opponent at R/16 and quarterfinal respectively.

CY/FHF are not coming, reason? Both are taking care of their wife who are due to deliver a new baby in May.

I didn't hear any one of them expecting a baby in the coming month but there's no need for them to compete because they have enough points to be seeded first in the Olympics..they need to train harder at home to improve their defense and consistency

If China can only win 3 titles here it will be a disastrous result.

4 titles are probably 99.99% sure. The only thing that the rest of asia has good chance is only MD because CY/FHF are not playing. But China still taking the no1 seed and possibly Hong Wei/Shen Ye, the no 7 seed can also win it.
