I've been playing badminton since 4 years old, stopped playing when I was about 20 and not recently started playing weekly again. I never had a high end or great racket. Last high end yonex I had I borrowed it from my mom in early 90s, which was made of steel or whatever-it rusted after some time. Used that for about 10 years until that broke. Previously I primarily play singles, and now since I started again after 10 year hiatus at the local club, I am playing doubles with plastic shuttles (club rules). I myself prefer feather. I am currently borrowing my friends Karakal Tour lite and it feels quite nice. Could someone recommend me something from Yonex like the Karakal Tour lite but slightly heavy headed? I'm not willing to go more than £80 since I have no idea how long I will play. So anything below £50 is great for me. I was thinking of the Yonex Nanoray 20, though I have no idea how good it is. i agree with avenger to go with an medium stiff and balanced racket. once you go from flexible to stiff, your "power strokes" will suffer especially if you stick to a head-light racket.
Thank you, will go and try the Arcsaber. One slight annoying thing with the Karakal is that my strong shots are not that strong. I know I've given a lot in the smash only to see the plastic travel slowly. I am not sure it is the plastic or the Karakal.
I'm sure either your technique wrong or the karakal flexible racket is not commonly used especially for a male male usually has stronger stroke and flexible racket cannot keep up with it clone or equivalent is actually a FAKE racket stay away from ebay really, there are too many fake racket in ebay some shops in UK such as central sports, millet sports, tennis nuts, and direct sports would be the best bet for you

Thanks for the recommendation. The arcsaber 008 is great. Got the blue one for £53. Now to find a secondary (cheaper) racket, in case the strings snap mid-game.
I like stiff rackets. Compared to the karakal I used last week this is miles better. Net shots improved. I'm thinking of getting the Arcsaber 8dx though I'm lookuing at a used one. Compared to the karakal,same power results in more powerful shots. Still need time to get used to the 008. 2hr 30 mins first go was great. Hopefully another 2hrs+ tomorrow
