You all better go to try toalson strings. The strings is make in Japan also. I already change to use Devil 66, very good repulsion & durable.

    Yonex strings...EXPENSIVE!!!

Eversince I started playing again last year after over 5 yrs I already noticed that Yonex strings are very expensive compared to their competitors. So I looked around and found some decent stringS frm Victor, Gosen, Toalson n Ashaway. Each manufacturer has 1-2 decent strings and they are priced at the most is 80% of yonex counterparts.

This is business n marketing and most of you guys have lots of dough to spend, go ahead n spend it :D. For me personally, the performance differences between Yonex n its competitors are not worth the price premiums. In fact, some Gosen old strings are only 1/2 price (in my market, but it is hard to find) frm BG66 n the performance difference is negligible, at least for me. Moreover, they were direct competitors in early 2000, before BG66 became very popular. In fact, the string technologies have not progressed much in the past 10 years.

Victor is also doing the same thing (raising prices) early this year in Indonesia so I am also not using Victor anymore

YY increased string price by 17% at the start of the year, that's why there has been an increase, just switch strings to Victor or Ashaway:)

I just had my Arc ZSTH stringed last week with Gosen Pro 66 for RM30. Seems like it's not that cheap either compared to Yonex.

Gosen Pro66 is selling for 12RM retail, w/o labor cost. BG66 is going for about 20RM. It is not fair to compare labor cost between different countries.;)

I've just looked into getting another reel of BG80, in November a reel cost £60, price has since gone up and is now ~£80...ouch.

Fortunately I'd bought some 10m Zymax packs to try, hopefully I'll find something I like as a 200m reel of that stuff goes for around £55 :)
