I think the stars represent team honours, if one represented the country in Uber, Thomas, Sudirman, Olympic games. The final star, looks like only LD has one, may even be bestowed by coach, CBA, or voted on by players as recognition for distinguished service.
I don't think they are for individual achievements because the Chinese have always emphasized team achievement and team identity. If you look at LYB's management style (all the Chinese strategic withdraws), all he cares about is Gold for China, not any particular players, so being a minesweeper (Chen Jin) counts as "service".
If these stars recognize individual achievements, the reward system may is in conflict with LYB's strategy. Because with rank comes pulling rank and dissension among the ranks, as such players will be unwilling to sacrifice for "the greater good". If these stars reward team achievement, then the players will merely desire to be included and behave like loyal foot soldiers. Somebody mentioned that fives stars = five star general, I think this is false, more likely they represent battles fought and medals of valor rather than rank. This very similar to the army. We all know who the five star general is on the team, that is reserved for LYB.
Just my 2 cents

interesting opinion, soulless.
but if counted based on team, there would be only 3 stars to fullfil, Uber/Thomas, sudirman and OG. what are the 2 other stars stands for?

This is a company specifically for the Chinese players lining design, there are five stars, but the real star counts, each star represents a world championship title. Lin Dan game and served on the star most, a total of five, become the" five-star" admiral, and coach Li Yongbo shirt although there are five stars, but one big and four small and Lin Dan vary; like Cai Yun, Fu Haifeng has four stars.
The five-star, on behalf of the badminton five traditional events: the Olympic Games, world championships, world cup, Su Diman cup and the thomas cup and uber cup . Each player gets a five tournament in Jersey on several titles, you can get a solid core of the pentagram!

The big star came from winning the Olympic Games. Zhang Ning might have 2 Big stars embedded at her Jerseys..
