Hey guys, I have no idea where to start on crosses. I dont know which grommet to start with and when I do put it through, is it first up down up or is it down up down? Also, how do I tie the knots? I don't know how to tie the starter knot for the crosses :/ If you guys have a link to where all of my questions can be answered, it'd be appreciated =] Thanks Tim
timothy itd also help if u took the time to figure some stuff by yourself or just searched a little bit because at this rate, youll have made 16 stringing questions threads by tuesday there is a lot of info on these boards
i start from the 9th hole from the T and go upwards. and depending on the racket, you need to thread 21 or 22 cross strings.
check my video also, it is long and boring but it shows the general process.
that ones in the gray area because if I recall correctly, he didnt say alans cousin... he went the other way around haha
... and to anticipate Wednesday's possible question : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lc4H6goKFB0 Just kidding Tim. Have fun learning. Lord knows I still am.
Thanks kwun, I've finished half of my crosses but I think I went wrn somewhere in my mains. I can't really put the string through a shared grmmet so I think I messed up on my mains... :s I will try t visit alan during my spring break for some help if he isn't busy xD
post a photo. i bet we can figure it out just looking at it. which racket are you trying to string? do you have the pattern diagram?
just sounds like the joys of shared holes besides, youre not supposed to have shared holes if half of the crosses are done as for Alan, I think him being busy is perfect, as you can just look at him do a stringjob and take notes
1- what is your clamp doing there (down right) 2-is that a knot at b9? 3-did you learn how to mount the racquet at all? ur side supports dont even touch the frame there probably is a lot of other stuff too and ill let ppl like kwun or Alan answer you better than I ever could timothy, you should definitely read more about stringing before just going blindly into stringing a racquet. some people read about stringing for weeks while their machines are being shipped and still have a buttload of questions to ask when its time to string an actual racquet
