    For our interested BCers, let's take a look at the matches of the 2012 Australian Open GP Gold from the Qualifications (Tuesday 03-Apr-2012) to the Quarter-Finals (Friday 06-Apr-2012) matches.

    For Schedule of Matches;
    http://www.tournamentsoftware.com/s...CAB636-49EC-470A-8B08-E9E0A743CCE0&d=20120403

    For Time in Sydney, Australia;

    For our BC PAW Game;
    Sandy will start it from Quarter-Finals (Friday 06-Apr-2012) onwards.

    For Live Streaming;
    Perhaps BCers from different countries can post the links that are working for their regions. Different countries sometimes cannot use the same links.

    Quite shocking to find so many "No Match" at the Qualification Rounds.

    Looking forward to see if Chen Jin [1] will face Sho Sasaki [2] at the Finals.

    Indeed, it means so many players pulled out from this GP Gold...
    Yup, barring any upset they should meet in finale ;)

    After the first hour of the Qualifications Rounds ......

    .
    At least for Round 1 of the Mens Singles, starting from 6:20pm (local time), it is a full program. :):):)

    After the first hour of the Womens Singles Qualifications Rounds, I am surprised that Karen Foo was eliminated in 23 minutes. Probably, she has lost her fitness, not like when I played with her some 10 years ago. :D:D:D

    However, Lydia Cheah and Hwang Hye Youn won easily in just 14 and 18 minutes respectively.

    It looks like Wang Lin will enter into the main draw without problems.

    Game 1:
    WL-Hadia Hosny (Egypt): 21-06 (in just 6 minutes)

    Yeah, bad draw for Hye-youn to meet strong opponent in qualifying round, lost straight-sets 14-21 / 13-21 to Han Li...

    As expected, Milicent Wiranto lost in the Qualifying Round. I hope PBSI doesn't fork out the money for her trip.

    In WS, INA will be happy to have even 1 rep in R16. It will take several upsets if any one is to make to the QF. Just take a look at the R32 Draw:
    Aprilia Yuswandari vs Eriko Hirose

    Adrianti Firdasari vs Wang Lin

    Lindaweni Fanetri vs Sayaka Sato [8]

    Maria Febe Kusumastuti vs Nichaon Jindapon

    MS R64 is to be played today, which is a good move by the organizer and I believe they are playing in 5 courts. Let's see if there's any overrun tomorrow.

    MS R64
    Simon Santoso
    [3] vs Joe Wu - Simon is hoped to fulfill his seeding.

    Wesley Caulkett vs Taufik Hidayat [5] - several warm-up matches for Taufik before the going gets tough in R16.

    Zulfadli Zulkiffli vs Alamsyah Yunus [15] - it's going to be a tricky match for Alam in his first international tourney this year. I hope he progresses to R16.

    Hong Ji Hoon vs Tommy Sugiarto [6] - a potential banana-skin for Tommy.

    Sony Dwi Kuncoro vs Rowan Henderson - a warm-up match for Sony, before he faces either Alam or Zul for a place in R16.

    Had a chance to watch Wang Lin play and not surprisingly she played very well and progressing through the draw relatively easily. Not sure why she had to play the Qualifiers but shouldn't be a problem for her

    I was watching the Chinese players train on another side. What was interesting is that the guys and girls trained together. It's no wonder their girls are so strong in defence! Perhaps only done in China? He Hanbin was there and had fun with his training. He was a bit bigger than I expected. Alot of the girls were very tall as well, especially Yao Xue! I watched her play her first match, although she won, she and her coach didn't seem satisfied with her performance...

    The Japanese team was also there. They were training - multi-shuttles, routines and matches. The male players did 3 vs 3 amongst themselves and it was obvious they were having fun because of the noise

    Reiko was also there training diligently and didn't allow photos until after training. Her partner Ikeda was there. He was very chill and happily agreed to take photos. I wished him good luck for the tourney. Reiko seemed very serious about doing well for this tournament, she rarely took breaks and from arrive she went straight into it. They had trained for a long time, perhaps around 2-3hrs

    Indian team was on another court. I had a chance to get a photo with Ajay who was cool and happy about it. It was great seeing him in person

    By the time I left the Thai team had arrived. Noticeable faces were Boonsak, Porntip and Sudket

    Sad indeed, but Li Han is another of those up and comers from the CHN badminton factory.

    The end of the road is coming rather quickly for HHY. So sad for one of the true beauties of the sport :(

    Here comes the MS Round of 64.

    No problems for Simon Santoso [3], winning 21-08, 21-13 in 29 minutes.

    However, Chen Jin [1] is not doing as well. He just lost his Game 2 (16-21) to Lin Yu Hsien after 32 minutes.

    But Chen Jin came back much stronger in Game 3, winning 21-12. The match lasted 55 minutes. :):):)

    Typos do happen

    .
    Hahaha...... Typos do happen. :):):)

    Right now, I am following one of my trainees, Gavin Ho, playing against Wong Wing Ki (HKG) [8].

    If Gavin can get half the scores/points of WWK's, Gavin should be prould of himself. ;););)
