String snapping... has to be a collision..

    Take a look at the picture. Does it look to you as tho the reason for the string snapping (only re-strung it 2 sessions ago) has been a collision or scraping or something that seems to have crushed the grommet

    I'll not be charging the guy for a re-string anyway but my conclusion was that he must of either smacked or dragged the racket on the floor.

    but how is it possible to drag that part of the racket on the floor? that's the 4/8 oclock position.

    try it out yourself.

    also, it takes a lot of force to crush the grommet like that. he is not telling you something.

    It's just shy of 3 & 9 o'clock position. You should see the rest of the racquets paintwork... So many scratches and chips.

    This racket is having improper relations with the floor (and possibly two-timing the floor with other rackets) - no way a grommet collapses like that under string pressure alone.

    It is dragging on the floor. Have seen some guys using a racket as a third leg :)

    Yes, I have seen quite a few rackets like that. This is a reflection of how the player treats his racket, I would tell them not to drag their racket anymore.
