Hello, Please can you give me some recommendations for a new racket. I am a advance county level under 17, I have a reasonable smash but rely on a good defence, drop shot and good net play. My current rackets are the Ashaway superlight 79sq and the Apacs slayer 99. I would not want to spend more than £100 on a racket and it must be available in the UK. I would prefer head light or even balanced but slightly head heavy isn't a problem Thanks for any suggestions Tom Darcy
I see Victor Bravesword LYD for £100 at Central Sports website. That's supposed to be a good balanced to slightly head heavy racket.
u give quite a broad range for yonex head light = nanospeed / nanoray series even balanced = arcsaber series armortec / voltric = head heavy see what u want that fits yr budget
I used to have a Nanospeed and didn't really like it, i've also played with an arcsaber and don't really like the feel of it

For carlton, if the VT Tour doesn't take your fancy, they don't have too many interesting rackets at the moment. Victor's Bravesword 8 should be just within budget and is slightly head-light.
I don't think BS8 is headlight, and it's not a good racket like the rest of the Bravesword family. If you want headlight to even, go for BS12 if you want mid-flex or BS10 if you want stiff.
I cannot find the brave sword 12 or 10 in Uk within my budget, does anyone know anything about the Yehlex YX - LJB? I have an Apacs at the moment and am not convinced by their build quality
Apacs models vary in quality a lot through their different ranges, but I do know that Tantrum 300 and Lethal 70 are a cut above the rest. Dunno about the Yehlex though, sorry. Maybe you could try a new Nanoray? What aspect of the Nanospeed did you not like? That might help us give more informed suggestions.
I could not get the right feel i played with it for a good few hours but just didn't like the feel of it, i don't know why?
How about spending £20 more and getting a really good racket? Lots to choose from or even getting a used racket?
Thanks for the advise but I managed to get the CARLTON PROTOTYPE V1.0 for £70 which I though was a good deal, your advise was greatly appreciated
