Finally, I decide to start this thread as INA Team now looks having many good talents in XD. We won WJC gold last year, and All England this year. PBSI will focus on XD also. INA Team 1st team : Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir (25 yo/27 yo) Muhammad Rijal/Debby Susanto (26 yo/23 yo) Fran Kurniawan Teng/Shendy Puspa Irawati (27 yo/25 yo) 2nd Team : Riky Widianto/Richi Puspita Dili (21 yo/23 yo) Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Anggraini (21 yo/22 yo) Muhammad Rizky Delynugraha/Yayu Rahayu (22 yo/21 yo) 3rd Team : Alfian Eko Prasetyo/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaya (18 yo/19 yo) Lukhi Apri Nugroho/Anissa Saufika (19 yo/19 yo) This line up looks very good and very promising... especially the younger ones Let's discuss about INA XD in this thread !
Beside XD team from pelatnas there is also independent XD pair such as: Hendra Setiawan/Vita Marissa (28 yo/30 yo) Hafiz Faizal/Pia Zebadiah ( 18 yo/ 23 yo) Putra Eka Rhoma/Aris Budiharti (18 yo/19yo) Andika Anhar/Keshya NUrvita
I would like to follow Ricky/Richie progress. Ricky/Richie is on Osaka IC final now, their second IC final after India IC 2011 if i am not mistaken. For the junior one, I am interested to follow the progress of Alfian/Gloria, Lukhi/Annisa. Well, IMO, Gloria and Annisa will grow better than other pelatnas XD senior ladies such as Weni/Debby/Shendy/ or Yayu.
I think the current INA junior XD is very good, they rule last year AJC/WJC through Lukhi/Ririn and Alfian/Gloria respectively. I hope it will continue this year through Edi/Melati or others combination. I would like to see Rosyita playing in XD too in AJC/WJC this year. We still got Alfian this year! Perhaps the combination will be Alfian/Shella, Hafiz/Rosyita?

No...they will be fielded in BAC. But, both pairs are likely to go out in the first-round. It will be a good achievement for any pair to reach R16.
3rd INA pair? are they better than fran/shendy?, last time they meet fran/shendy they loose in straight set...
that's their 1st tourney, and please remember that fran/shendy are much much more experience compare to Riky/Richie.... see next year or next 2 years if Fran/Shendy can beat Riky/Richie in an easy manner...
a few comentary during their match last year in India IC, here.. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/for...Open-India-International-Challenge-2011/page8
...and after watching Fran/Shendy game, if Fran keep pair with Shendy, i think hard for them to compete in elite stage.
Updated rankings for XD pairs: WR44 - Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Aggraini (9 tourneys) WR62 - Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati (7 tourneys) WR85 - Riky Widianto/Richi Dili Puspita (4 tourneys)
Seems hard for both of these pairs.. Irfan/Weni, i don't meant to underestimate them, but they don't have what is needed to become a top XD pair. While Fran/Shendy has got it, but... I will not surprise if one or two years later the junior Alfian/Gloria, Lukhi/Annisa will take over them.
Sorry to say, but... I don't think Fran/Shendy combo is powerful enough to be a world-beater. They're good, but sadly not exactly SS material either. GP Gold level, at best. Fran is already 27 and Shendy is 25. Clock is ticking.
Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja can be paired with a senior player like Mohd Rijal or Fran Kurniawan. Anyway, Alfian still needs to play in Juniors (possibly with Shella Devi Aulia) this year. So, the partnership between Alfian and Gloria could still be changed.
we have to do something with our XD.... Rijal is good, he has made a breakthrough with Vita winning Japan Open.... but Debby is not that good... I agree with badmania, Gloria may be a good pair for Rijal... it's not proven yet, but we have to do something. Rijal/Debby is quite stagnant...
Yeah, the problem with INA XD mostly because the ladies are not good enough. Frans, Rijal are OK but need better partner, maybe from the younger players.
pbsi must split fran/shendy & rijal/debby. fran better being paired with gloria, while rijal paired with tiara...
Riky Widianto/Richi Dili Puspita have really done very well since they were paired up at the end of last year! In their first outing as a pair, they emerged as the WINNER of Kejurnas 2011, beating Irfan Fadhilah/Weni Angraini in the Final. Since then, they have participated in 6 international tourneys (including this week's MAS GPG) and their performance have been quite consistent: WINNER of Osaka IC 2012 - beating 5 Japanese pairs en-route to the title! RUNNER-UP of India IC 2011 - losing to their senior Fran Kurniawan/Shendy Puspa Irawati while beating Irfan/Weni for the second-time as well as Tan Aik Quan/Lai Pei Jing SEMI-FINAL (so far) of MAS GPG 2012 - arguably their best tourney so far...I don't expect them to beat Chan Peng Soon/Goh Liu Ying. It will be a great upset if they can beat the top-seed! R16 of India GPG 2011 - losing to Maneepong Jongjit/Savitree Amitrapai R32 of Korea GPG 2011 and BAC 2012 - losing to Kang Ji Wook/Shin Sheung Chan and V. Diju/Jwala Gutta. They should be ranked in the top 60 by next Thursday and I foresee them going up to as high as the top 30-40 by end of this year. PBSI will probably send them to: 5-10 Jun - SCG Thailand Open GPG 12-17 Jun - Djarum Indonesia Open SSP (hopefully, they can squeeze into the Qualifying round) 02-07 Jul - Victor Indonesia IC (optional, considering they already won an IC title) 21-26 Aug - Yonex-Sunrise Vietnam Open GP 25-30 Sep - Bankaltim Indonesia Open GPG 02-07 Oct - Yonex Chinese-Taipei Open GPG 27 Nov-02 Dec - Macau Open GPG 04-09 Dec - Korea Open GPG 18-23 Dec - India Open GPG Total: 1 IC (optional), 1 GP, 6 GPG, and 1 SSP tourneys
