Mate, for starters 'ass-clown' is an Americanism. It's not used in ANY English speaking countries except the US and Canada, and I'd expect anyone say over the age of about 12 to pronounce it how an adult would pronounce it As-Car-Lon. I mean do you say LiNing as in 'LEE-Ning', or do you say Leaning? Juvenile and lame.
Katana does seem popular though so its definitely on the cards.

To each his own. Implicit associations impact part of consumers purchase decisions, given that fact you are aware and quite offended by this phrase suggest Americanism has travelled quite far. And it only takes someone to bring up the association to ruin the feeling for a lot of other people.
Sorry, I should have been more tactful and used less crude language, but it is still an valid advice for you to opt for a more universally pleasing name for the racket.
I will comment no further on this matter.

What about something simpler that has a meaning to most people without having to google it :P Like Pioneer or Prime (e.g. White Label Prime Mk1). I'm trying to think of words that have a new design sort of meaning to them.
Another simple name: Proto
Others I've thought of: Cascade, Vertex, Apex, Delta, Arc
Or you could keep it really simple and trendy and use Alpha, Beta, Gamma for different models.Last edited by Swiftlegend; 06-10-2012 at 06:53 PM. Reason: New ideas!

Having said that I just thought of the Latin word: Paribus. That sounds good. Originates from Ceteris Paribus - All other things being equal (I think.....)

Wont it be good sense to make the names a common theme? for example, the gaming company Razer names its mouses (mice?) after various snakes in the world
In a latin theme, i could sugest Parabellum (prepare for war)
On a more asian side, Zanbatou (if its a head heavy racquet) or Wakizashi (for fast head light ones?)
