Dear BC Friends, I am currently doing a book. And i have come up with few sample book cover. Just would like to know what you think and if you have any other better suggestions. RED 1 is best overall imo plus the typeset for your name matches whereas RED 2 doesn't, most importantly the title, sub-title, profile pic and author are in their proper places. RED 3 doesn't have the comparative poise (pic) of RED 1 and RED 4.
ants i would vote for no 1..defenately look like books cover.. other just like poster.. maybe the font used on red2 to 4 didn't make it as a book cover look more like poster to me .
Red1 is definitively the best imho. The title catches the eye right way and the font is very nice. I'm not sure about the picture though. Looks a little cheasy to me. I like RED2's picture better, but it surely don't fit with RED1.
I have a strong opinion, backed by experience and research, on which of these covers will be the most compelling to potential buyers. But I'm following my heart and it tells me that my commission fee should be a million dollars.
Yup, Red 1 is the best among the 4 but better to place the name "Anthony Kong" below the caption : 7 Steps to Be Wealthy and Stay Happy and re-size your photo to cover the whole width of the page.
The typeface on #3 and #4 would be more at home on a "true crime" book. #2 is the winner for me - looks very "Time magazine", and the lettering stands out best. I think the photo from #1 is the best one, though - more personal than #2 and #3.
Hmm... on reflection, that red-stripe-on-black in #2 is even more true-crimey than #3 and #4. I hereby change my vote to #1.

i think red 1 looks best as well. since we're sorta helping the publishing process, do we get discounts on your book or something?

Thanks for the votes. But i probably opt for more conventional type of cover which does not have my face in the front. But based on the votes, i would probably use that photo for Author's face at the back or inside the book.
